Thailand to ease some restrictions next Monday, COVID-19 zones adjusted

Thailand’s Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) today (Friday) announced adjustments to COVID-19 monitoring zones and the easing of some restrictions, effective Monday (June 21st).

CCSA reduces count of Dark Red Zones to only 4 provinces

BANGKOK (NNT) - The Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) has whittled down the list of Dark Red Zones to only four provinces and is to allow dining at restaurants until 11pm from June 21.

Million more doses of AstraZeneca delivered, 2 million more Sinovac doses due next week

One million more doses of AstraZeneca vaccine were delivered to Thailand’s Public Health Ministry today (Friday), which will be distributed across Thailand later today or tomorrow, according to Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul.

Free state quarantine for arrivals in Thailand by air, sea to cease from July 1

There will no longer be free, state provided quarantine for international arrivals in Thailand by air and sea from July 1st, according to the Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) today (Friday), citing high costs.

Organization’s Sinopharm jabs allotment application ends today

BANGKOK (NNT) - Private firms and local administrative organization that wish to purchase doses of Sinopharm’s COVID-19 vaccine, have until 4 p.m. today to submit their request to Chulabhorn Royal Academy, which has already received applications from some 14,000 organizations.

Thailand, Malaysia central banks launch cross-border QR payment linkage

BANGKOK (Reuters) - The central banks of Thailand and Malaysia launched on Friday a cross-border QR (Quick Response) payment linkage to enable consumers and merchants in both countries to make and receive instant cross-border QR code payments.

PHUKET: The Phuket Fisheries Chief has confirmed that blacktip reef sharks are not protected species following outrage online sparked from photos of a haul of dead sharks in baskets at Koh Siray, in Rassada, today (June 18).

10 million COVID-19 vaccine doses to be distributed across Thailand in July

Thailand’s Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) is aiming to administer about 10 million doses of AstraZeneca and Sinovac vaccines in July in provinces which have high infection rates and to complete full inoculation of at least 70% of the population of Phuket, which is set to be the first province to receive fully vaccinated tourists without quarantine from July 1st.
