I downloaded Antivir today (after seeing it wallop my former favourite Avast in a large comparative test). Problem is, I can't update the virus definitions - it tries to connect to various servers (dl2, 3, 4 etc) but nothing happens, and eventually it times out.

It is the same on XP and Vista, and also on 2 totally separate internet connections. So is it just me or is something wrong at the Antivir end?

They pushed out a major engine upgrade yesterday, you may have the old one, try re-installing with a fresh version.

I got it off a mirror so you are probably right. Many thanks I'll give it a go.
