Private sector expresses approval in Thailand's plan to construct international convention hall in Phuket

Private sector has expressed approval in Thailand's bid to build a mega international convention hall in Phuket.

The Minister of Tourism and Sports Suwit Yodmanee (สุวิทย์ ยอดมณี) is scheduled to have a discussion with Phuket (ภูเก็ต) Governor Nirand Kanlayanamitr (นิรันดร์ กัลยาณมิตร) on May 28th about the construction of international convention hall at Phuket province. However, the province has yet decided on which land will be used to set up the Phuket international convention hall.

President of Phuket Tourism Association, Mr. Maitri Narukattipichai (ไมตรี นฤขัติพิชัย), personally views Chatchai (ฉัตรไชย) dock as a suitable site for the construction due to its infrastructure.

Phuket residents also support the construction as the international convention hall will draw in more tourists and events.
