Hi all.

First of all:

I am German, 33.

I have a 2-months Tourist Visa

"Good for triple journeys to Thailand"

issued at the Royal Thai Consulate in Essen, Germany

I have entered Thailand on April 7 2007.

So now it is time for me to make a visa decision.

What is my best option to extend my stay to a maximum?

Shall I go to Soi Suan Plu, Sathorn, Bangkok and extend for 1 month and afterwards go to e.g. Cambodia.

If so, do I get a new 2-month visa on returning to Thailand?

And if so, can I then go to Soi Suan Plu again, extend for one month and then again do a visa run?

Or does the extension for 1 month does affect my triple entry visa in any way.

Is it maybe better just to do the visa runs without any 1-month extension in Bangkok?

And then ... What again does the phrase mean "This visa must be utilized before 18 Sep 07"?

And does my first entry to Thailand in April already counts on my triple journeys? Does that mean I do only have two entries into Thailand left and am only allowed to make two visa runs?

Or just the simple way again? ;-) What is the best way to extend my stay to a maximum?

Does anybody have hands-on experience on that issue. Maybe even the same situation?

Thank you so much for your help.

Extend your current 60 day stay at immigration for 1900 Baht.

Do a border run to activate your next 60 days, extend that by 30 days at immigration.

Check the 'must enter before' date on your visa do another border run on the day before which will activate your final 60 day stay, extend that by 30 days at immigration. (EDIT I see this is 18 Sept 07 so do your final run on the 17th).

If you still want to remain in the Kingdom, you've still got the option of doing three 30-day visa exemption entries :o

Extensions at immigration will not affect your tourist visa in any way :D

@Crossy: Thanks a lot. I will do as you advised.

Two last questions for now:

My permission to stay ends at June 6.

If I go to immigration on let's say Mai 30 (Mai 31 is a holiday as far as I know) do I get the 30 day extension beginning on June 6 or 7 - or do they grant the extension starting with the day of the application (e.g. May 30).

So, can I go next week or is it better to wait until e.g. June 4.

I checked the application form.

What do I enter into the field "Reason for extension"? Just "holiday"?

Thanks again.

The extension is added on to your current permission to stay. In your case, it will be until 6 July.

“Tourism” is something that Immigration probably understands easily.
