Yeah, you can charge them at intermission.... I think wireless speakers are great, but in a home theater installation I can't imagine not having an AC power source near each speaker. Only the Sub-woofer unit is powered in the cases here; the satellites are all passive. As illustrated by MM; you don't need to have a sophisticated and expensive set-up for a Home Theatre. Look in YouTube for Dolby examples. At my LG TV I have 2 optical sound output settings. One is optical and the other one is Optical / HDMI ARC. Only the second one transmits Dolby. Your TV has Dolby Digital Plus built in. Are you choosing that as your sound output once you have connected that to your amplifier via optical lead? How else do you think you could charge them? With your finger? How would you charge your laptop if you wanted to use it off mains? Come on...be serious and focus on your own problem. Having just ordered a new TV myself, I was more than a little interested in this thread. Now I've got to this post, and it turns out that I've ordered something almost the same. It's going to replace a Samsung 55" which is 6 years old and has been great, except that within the last few days has developed the dreaded large white dot that means dead pixels. SAMSUNG TV Q65A UHD QLED Year 2021 (65", 4K, Smart) QA65Q65AAKXXT I gave up on home cinema AV some years ago, but decided to try this one. I wanted something minimal cables only power. It does not make sense, that's why they are sending a tech out. They did not say, but I think the optical out on the TV may be bad. I get no sound TV optical to AV optical. Same as you, HomePro/Powerbuy, but on-line. I checked out the ranges that they had and made my choices for what I was prepared to spend. Normally I just go into a shop and buy whatever is in stock, but can't be bothered at the moment. I'm not in a rush, and can put up with the white dot for a few days. My set up is an Apple TV box to the TV by HDMI (this receives all of my downloaded iTunes media from my iMac computer) and a Pulse TV box (again, HDMI to the TV, which has all of the UK channels plus movie and TV series libraries).
