Tried to do everything on the cheap now all the money's been spent or squirreled away on essential army toys and Swiss accounts the covid chickens have nowhere to roost.

There is a clue in that . The government just announced a $1.3 billion rescue plan . Where do you think the majority of that money will end up ? This whole thing is a scam and governments around the world are taking advantage of free printed money with next to no devaluation of their currencies . It’s a free for all and we will see what it really is in a few years .

Government’s misplaced priorities

They use the term misplaced priorities.  Other than arresting old retirees secretly going to bars, trying to permanently kill all the tourist infrastructure, and banning alcohol sales, I am not saying there priorities are misplaced, they are just missing having any priorities.

I've been is solidly third world nations and I've lived here 14 years.
Most of Thailand is third world with a veneer of "developing" to paint some lipstick on it.

Hammer --> nail --> head.

Which great nation has changed without the loss of life? Great nations are built on the blood and tears of the people who envisioned a better country, a brighter future. People who fought for what they believed was right.

But not your blood and tears.

And not those of anyone you know.

It sounds so easy when it was all done for you, hundreds of years ago.

Give it a try now and see how you get on.

Here's a taste of what's in store:

Thailand is not a "Great" nation........it's not heading towards being one.

It's falling apart.

Nowhere in my post did I claim to have shed blood or tears, but I do appreciate what my ancestors have done for us and know that we sit in the shade of the trees they have planted.
