Kanada Posted July 24, 2021 Share Posted July 24, 2021 Not to get into details of the war I often think of thousands of young American 18-20 year olds landing in Vietnam and being ordered into the jungle! I’m sure many times they used available roads but when they couldn’t it’s hard to imagine carrying a heavy pack plus rifle etc. and trying to hack thru the jungle in 90-100+ heat and the humidity! Mosquitoes ???? spiders and bugs of every kind, snakes, lizards and leaches all completely foreign to what I’d assume were largely city boys! Sleeping rough…wet feet…blisters… heat rash….it must have been disastrous for some! 2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
