Please direct us to your source and the locations of these raids and reasons for them being carried out.

Reputable links would be appreciated.

That is the oxymoron of the year...well done.:clap2:

Sigh... here are a couple scientists discussing this most obvious of concepts that you will no doubt ignore as you prefer pseudo science.

Civil rights also incur civil obligations.  An individual should behave in such a manner that they do not endanger other people's civil rights of a healthy life.

There are several fundamental differences between people in a bar and people in a supermarket -

  1. Trips to a supermarket are essential to purchase food to sustain life.
  2. People in a supermarket do not need to remove a mask to engage in their shopping activities, people drinking in a bar do!
  3. People in a supermarket are unlikely to be drunk and forget the need to wash their hands after physical contact with a bunch of strangers.
  4. Groups of people in a bar tend to socialise in close proximity with no mask and increase the chances of infection.

It's quite hard to call trips to the supermarket essential, when every supermarket out there offers delivery as well.

Yes, that confirms to me that the get together on Wongamat Beach was extremely high risk for Covid transmission. Your guess of zero is contradicted by your own post....

You aren't very good at this are you?

I can only presume you have reading or comprehension problems at this stage if you took that from the link I provided.    I've no doubt as the factories and markets continue to be places that spread the virus in significant numbers even after all the illegal outdoor bars have closed down you will be scratching your head in bewilderment as to how or why the numbers haven't gone down.

Sure, I can imagine in some cases delivery is not an option.

But overall it's just completely ridiculous. For example my local Makro on a Friday evening is completely full of people with a total lack of social distancing and people fighting for pieces of meat on the counter all touching each other. This has got even worse as since the curfew, they close at 7pm so everyone goes at once.

The rules are drawn out of a hat with no scientific backing. Entire activities are banned because people "tend" to do something in certain circumstances.

100 people cramped into a supermarket for their essential food shopping is OK. 10 people actually practicing social distancing drinking beer at the beach is illegal.

Everyone cheers when the police arrest people for trying to enjoy themselves a little bit. It seems none of you care about your civil rights and are quite happy for governments to take them away from you. What's the difference a group of people in a bar or a group of people in a supermarket. No difference in terms of covid.

Don't you think that there is a pandemic going on? If these stupid people created a cluster in your neighborhood, what would you say? So, yes, I cheer when such people are arrested. They are contributing to the continuation of the pandemic. These people are selfish and irresponsible. They should be heavily fined and quarantined at their own expenses (after being tested of course). What do civil rights mean when you need to be tied to a ventilator: should the patients be asked first if they want it?

weak old "man" ! I wish that the virus only target old idiots scare by their own shadow !

Obviously you haven't lost anyone to the disease. I have. When you have then you can call me an old idiot. Wait until à loved one is under a respirator: you might then change your tune.

Well you are wrong again.....

I am quite sure factories are contributors to Covid spread.. we have seen very recent examples of that. I just don't believe they are the only contributors...

You should quit while you are behind.....

Perversely you cannot order alcohol for delivery so if you want a drink you either need to go to the supermarket/7-11 in person to buy it or go to a place that sells it in "Coffee Cups"

Maybe revoking the ban on selling alcohol online would help keep people at home...

Oh, another expert who knows better! Well, give a piece of your science: we are all ears.

I would hope to know better than to think Covid rules are pulled out of a hat as you stated.

The raid took place at 8:30 P.M. last night, just before a 9:00 P.M.

Who would have guessed that 8.30 was just before 9.00?   LOL

If you bothered to quote the full context you wouldn't find yourself LOLing at your own unfunny comment...

"The raid took place at 8:30 P.M. last night, just before a 9:00 P.M. curfew as part of Covid-19 related measures..." is what was actually reported.

Okay so what about pre-covid...

At least once a week there would be an article on here for police raiding a social gathering of some sort

Those would have been illegal gatherings, obviously.   Are you saying that they should be allowed?

You forgot the important one,  people generally don’t remain in a supermarket for as long as they do in a bar, which I suspect is what this is all about.
