Agree. What ifs, are for paranoid people who enjoy living a stressful thought life. Why bother doing that to yourself. Visas I've used haven't changed in 25 yrs, and I don't expect to, or not enough to matter, if ever they do. Knowing myself and or my daughter needs a place to live, for about 16 yrs, means investing, buying in to a couple custom built houses for our comfort is always the best financial way to live ... RENT FREE. When she was done high school and off to Uni, only then did I did to decide if TH was for me, as a place to retirment. Really to easy to decide, considering all the less favorable options out there. So pick a spot, PKK, and simply build another custom built house for us to spend my remaining years. Again, RENT FREE. No need to worry about things that probably won't happen, or will have much of an effect when they do. Enjoying life, instead of being scared of the future seems a more productive way to live.
