Anyone ever used an Interactive Brokers account statement to prove sufficient funds i.e. 20.000€? German embassy wont answer so far. Problem is if I enter my accounts it will amount to several hundert pages for 3 months with the account nevergoing anywhere near the 20K Euros. The alternative is to just present an account statement at the end of the month stating sufficient funds. I am not sure what they will accept.

My experience is only with Thai consulate in the US. They said feel free to post the first page only with your total balance, and even OK to black out the account number they don't need it. Very flexible they hardly need to see every burrito eaten or sum spent for a whole month.

However they will not accept a brokerage account. Only a savings or checking account. Oh and you also have to provide for the O-A visa a bank letter verifying your minimum balance during the 3 month period.

Thanks for your reply! To my understanding IB only offers a brokerage account or am I misstaken? I have a USD and a EUR account with them where all my trades are booked. Maybe I try to go with a tailored bank letter from IM stating that I was above 20.000€ in the relevant period, thanks for the hint!
