Procure 200milj doses for next year ??? They need them this year they work quit well against the delta variant . If they order them next year for mutations who knows they will not even work against the new mutations so what's the use of ordering them for next year . My geuss will be they will order 200milj doses of aztra , sputnik , and pfizer and then pfizer will ne the only one that will work against a new variant and all the others will be useless so money thrown away . They should order what they can get now and that works against delta and then in the mean time the big pharma's and such will come up with new vaccines for new variants so when those new vaccines come Thailand should be on time ordering the new ones and will not be as far behind as they where this time.

So you want them to be last on the delivery list again? The UK ordered something like 300 million shots from various companies before any had produced a single working vaccine. A gamble that paid off. No-one knows which vaccines will work with as yet unknown strains. Or which companies will be able to deliver them quickly.

Thailand is only talking so when it gets down to costs, who knows what will actually get ordered and when it will arrive - if any.

As far as I know, those items are available today... be it pre-8pm.

But not after October 1st??

Soon gunna be needing a 3rd shot of the jungle juice so thats 64 million x 3 = 192 million.... leaving the remaining 8 million for breakages and spillages.

It's 200 million "more" doses they are buying for next year....that's 200 million more on top of what they have bought for this year.   By next year most everyone will have got their first 2 jabs.  So in terms of booster jabs that would just be one more jab person.....or approx 64 million doses needed.

This year they bought <deleted> all !!

Well, global production has ramped up a lot and continues to increase.  They should be able to get this 200m.

Strange how the people with all the facts,  all around the world, keep quiet yet a few youtubers without proper qualifications or doing any actual medical trials can convince people that vaccines are bad.

A bit like those who say there is a wonderful man in the sky who loves you and looks after you if you believe in him without the slightest bit of evidence, yet millions fall for it.

Why do some people believe the unbelievable without any evidence instead of what has been proven beyond doubt by clever people?

People seem to readily believe what they're told on Social Media or MSM without doing any further research.

If a Scientific paper stretches their brains, it's back to the "Daily Blah-blah" or FartwitBook or Twatter.

As for the "wonderful man in the sky": the greatest and longest-lasting Conspiracy Theory ever! ????

150m sinovac

40m AZ

10m pfizer

With respect, there is no mention of Sinovac in the OP or in the link to the main article. The vaccines mentioned are AZ, Pfizer and Sputnik-5. I bet the Chinese Ambassador to Thailand will not be a happy bunny!!

Another propaganda story, and if true, what about this year's procurements,  they have been saying they are in talks to purchase Sputnik V for the past 6 Months to get it for this year...

Yes, I had my 3 monthly haircut 2 weeks ago.

Plans and more plans, great to have a plan but only if it ends in some action. The way things have gone up till now only firm orders matter.

One thing about the worldwide vaccine shortage, why have counries like Thailand and others not layed down the red carpet for these vaccine producing companies to set up production of the vaccine. This is a worldwide pandemic, yet the world is reliant on private entersprise out to make billions and doing so by restricting supply. AZ did the right thing , a very generous thing, by producing the vaccine at cost, and surprise, surprise, they have been subject to a worldwide media fake news campaign led by people like Macron of Fance, an obvious globalist stooge. You gotta wonder.

Wow that's great news.  I hope I don't misspell anything whilst rainbow surfing on my invisible unicorn.

it wasn't a serious post, but i'd be very surprised if they stopped ordering them

That is a good plan if they make it work. Countries should prepare for what's coming next.

Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health has announced plans to procure 200 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines next year, to prepare for more mutations of the deadly virus. You know, These Thai doctors must be able to know the future of mutations. To be able to procure vaccines for a mutation that doesn't exist yet is truly remarkable. Congratulations you smart Thai doctors

You are right but when the UK ordered them there where no vaccines whatsoever now there is choice .

There was only one strain then, not 4 or five with Delta being in the majority right now. USA did the same thing the UK did but much larger order. Also what delivery are you talking about? Thailand plans to procure these here in Thailand. Most vaccine drug companies are working on a vaccine that centers around Delta. The strain needs to be active and studied to procure a vaccine. That's my point

It would be great if politicians mutated into a better version of themselves.

The hub of announcements

I get so tired of the headlines "will buy", "will order", plan this, plan that, millions of doses here and there.  What do they need, 300 million doses?   4 per person?
