September 18, 20214 yr Hi, I need some advice. I intend to buy a second hand car from private people. What paper/documents have to hand over? What documents are needed to register the car of my name? Thanks in advance
September 18, 20214 yr Go to your local DLT if it's open with a Thai person preferably and all will be revealed, easy peasy.
September 18, 20214 yr You need a letter of residence from immigration and copies of your passport (and the original I think.) You fill in a form, hand it over with the sellers forms and in half an hour you have a car.
September 18, 20214 yr Popular Post A second-hand car costing THB 2,000,000 plus ? What car is this? Edited September 18, 20214 yr by Chris.B
September 18, 20214 yr Popular Post Oh come on the OP wants to buy a s/h car doesn't matter what it cost, maybe he doesn't realize he shouldn't of mentioned cost, to get stick.
September 18, 20214 yr Popular Post New 2021 Suzuki Swift is 560k baht. Total with finance will be 640k baht. Wife and I have had it 6 months so far. Great little car. Buying new from the dealer means they handle all the registration paperwork, and include a year of first class insurance. Due to the economic conditions and lack of business, dealers and banks are falling all over themselves to put you in a new car. Something to consider.

She wants a big car to show off in front of the villagers. ????????

September 18, 20214 yr Popular Post If the OP wants to buy a second hand car for 2 mil baht he is obviously stark staring bonkers, pretty sure you can buy a brand new 3 ltr Fortuna with 7 seats and get change, I smell troll.

That I mentioned a price tag is only because is a lot of money and I really don't like to make any mistake and losing the money. By a price tag from 10,000 Baht I would take the risk ????

And since I'm not Thai, I don't need to show anything to others. But, as I see, here in this forum are many who have a problem with this price tag. Yeah, Human....

You won't lose money buying it unless it over-priced and not giving more info no-one with knowledge of S/H prices for cars in a private sale can give advice.

I imagine it's a European car. If it's out out warranty its always a risk due to expensive repairs that may be required. May be ok if one knows the previous owner and its history.
September 19, 20214 yr One make sure the windows aren't too dark or the neighbors can't see who is driving. It might even be worth considering a coupe?

Of course they're falling over themselves when there's a Swift to be sold! Don't think that the OP is a Suzuki man.
