I'm buddhist myself but I have real trouble believing that Buddism is the fastest growing religion in Oz.

Maybe they have taken it off a small base so as a percentage it's grown rather than overall numbers.

Actually, the figures came from the latest Census - which every Australian must complete every 4 years.

Quote from the article: 'Australians in particular are lapping up the Buddhist philosophy, with more adherents here per capita than anywhere else in the western world. According to the most recent census findings, Buddhism was the fastest-growing religion in Australia, increasing by 79% to 357,813 followers.
