Looks like we have reached the testing plateau for new cases and then we have reached another bump up in deaths as the Delta wave keeps ascending downward.  I really would like to know what the true number of tests per day is being done and how many they are processing.  It just makes it harder to understand why the downward trend curve has such a long drawn out descending line.

Thailand at #10 on the weekly trend list, cases are down 9% in the past 7 days, so not moving downward rapidly but very slowly and it appears they have moved up the chart as others have dropped below.  The weekly deaths are down 18% which is good to see but we are still a long way off from seeing this number reduce to a point where to me it is acceptable.

For the Asian countries Thailand is at number 6 on the charts.  I can only hope that complacency on peoples part does not increase cases as people believe this is almost over, when it is not.

Stay safe and take care of yourselves as you start to travel out and about.

The case of Singapore is interesting as it is the country to have a significant testing policy: around one third of official daily cases compared to Thailand and only one tenth of daily deaths (and the number of official Covid death in Thailand is much lower than the number of excess deaths).

Thailand to revive its medical tourism amid COVID-19 pandemic

BANGKOK -- With the Thai government planning to reopen the country to foreign tourists as part of its strategy of learning to live with COVID, Thai businesses aim to offer COVID-related services as well as revive medical tourism.

The upscale Bumrungrad International Hospital has launched its first COVID-19 recovery clinic, offering all COVID solutions to affluent Thais and foreigners, as the government prepares to reopen the country roughly by November.

Bitter and angry about Thai society? Or pointing out that when someone tries to compare the UK stats on covid with Thailand then testing makes all the difference. Quite simple really.

Sorry I wasn't talking to you and I fully understand what you are saying, every day

Never knew they did away with the medical tourism as it was one of the ways folks could return here once they reopened the country up ladt year, and was touted in the BP. Never saw they shut it down.

Life in Thailand getting back to normal – but only if you are vaccinated

If you haven’t had your COVID-19 jab yet, then your life in Thailand may be very different from those who have already been vaccinated. This is because of new “COVID-Free Setting” rules that bar unvaccinated people from accessing certain services.

With only a pitiful 40,000 tests a day, it's surprising anyone takes any figures Thailand publishes seriously.

From testing to vaccine procurement Thailand has been next to useless.

Are you thinking about leaving then?

Thanks for taking the time to highlight the inconsistencies.

You seem to be quite well informed for someone who has been on the forum for just 3 weeks. And you live in the UK?

You seem to have the same style and ideas of another couple of posters who have not been so vocal on here lately.

Of course, probably just a coincidence, just saying..........

I'm holding off for a little more information for my son, not anti vax as both my wife and I have 2 shots.

Doesn't give you much confidence when the government here aren't really sure what to do with kids, 2 for girls but possibly only 1 for boys?

I'll wait for a little more science, seems a little impulsive IMHO

Waiting to hear when we need to take the GF's daughter in to be vaccinated.  We picked her up today as we have not seen her since the end of June. Of course the daughter did have covid as well during that period of time as did the rest of her fathers family and ended up hospitalized.  Once she was cleared in September she was off limits until the GF had her first vaccine and 14 days had passed.  Now all is good, but then I do wonder what the ages they are vaccinating is.  I think its kind of foolhardy to vaccinate an 8 year old who had Covid, but I don't make the rules for school.  Answered my own question by reading the OP on the vaccinations and it seems that it is only for 12 to 18 year olds.  Not sure why the Father said she needed to be vaccinated.  Maybe he was misinformed.

CoronaVac COVID-19 Vaccine-Induced Anaphylaxis: Clinical Characteristics and Revaccination Outcomes

Introduction

Anaphylaxis associated with vaccination against Coronavirus Disease-2019 (COVID-19) is a rare and potentially life-threatening serious adverse event following immunization (AEFI) with onset usually minutes to hours after vaccination.1 CoronaVac (Sinovac Life Sciences, Beijing, China) is an inactivated vaccine against COVID-19, produced by Vero cells inoculated with the CZ02 strain of the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). It has a two-dose priming schedule given 2–4 weeks apart, and no booster schedule has been recommended to date.2 It was approved for use in adults 18–59 years of age by the Thai Federal Drug Agency for emergency use on February 22, 2021.3 Since then until June 27, 2021, immediate reactions clinically compatible with anaphylaxis associated with its use have occurred at a rate of 2.2 per million doses of CoronaVac.4 We report a case series of anaphylaxis after vaccination with CoronaVac to help healthcare workers diagnose and manage this serious AEFI.
