Naew Na reported from the press briefing at immigration HQ in Suan Phlu, Bangkok, yesterday.

The case with the top billing went to the activities of Region 1 officers who were told by an informant that a colored man was dealing drugs in the downtown area.

He was using WhatsApp to communicate - an app popular with Europeans, Americans and Africans, said the media.

A sting was set up for the late evening of October 5th with the informant arranging to buy drugs by meeting in the toilets of a mall in the Bang Rak, Silom area of downtown Bangkok.

Immigration knew the suspect would arrive by BTS and had staked out the Saladaeng station when they saw a black man matching the description.

He was followed then confronted at the toilets where he tried to flush several packets of drugs down the toilet.

Police retrieved three ziplock sachets of ice and ketamine.

Arrested was Nigerian national George aged 28.

He said he got the drugs from a Thai woman in Ramkhamhaeng and could make a profit by selling them on to foriegners who paid above the market price.

His passport had absolutely no stamps in it and there was no record of him on the immigration biometrics system.

He was charged with possession with intent to sell Class 1 and 2 narcotics and illegal entry and detained.

Some information he supplied is being used to expand the case.

Not just the Nigerians are at it.

I doubt there is any nationality that does not have dealings in shady business dealings.  They just get the bad press.

Sorry, a bit off topic but funny as hell when a victim turns the tables on a Nigerian scammer.

Video from ScamBait Central. Hilarious.

Hahaha , I laughed so much at this, I fear that mu shorts will never dry.  Chickens  and roosting comes to mind.

Hopefully they will catch his foreign customers buying his drugs.

Will he be black-listed?

But people were saying before they are all diamond dealers and there were only a few bad Nigerians selling drugs ! ????

Not enough profit to pay off the police though.

Harassing Nigerians was said to have been a reason why 'Big Joke' Pol Lt Gen Surachate  was sidelined a year or so ago.

Right, like that’s unique to Nigerians! There’s crooks all over the planet from every single country in the world and they have their fingers in every illegal activity that makes money, in other words, there’s not a single nation in the world that has a white west! So what are you on about?!

Has there ever been a positive post about a Nigerian?

This one must have missed his monthly payment. Anyone who needed confirmation on corruption/bungs In Thailand only had to visit Sukhumvit Road between Soi 11 and Asoke BTS pre-covid.

Has there ever been a positive post about a Cameroonian? About 5 years ago all the schools around here used them as English speakers employed by agencies. They lasted about a couple of months before all were rounded up and shipped out. It's not just Nigerians.

Jeez, tell us something we don't know.  The problem is with the amount of crime, particularly international, that Nigerians are involved in.  Online Scam capital of the world for example.

Ok, so why is Immigration investigating narcotics crimes, when there are actual drug police in Thailand?

How did they spot him??? Good thing the malls are open again, eh!

They had chapter and verse on George but couldn’t find him on the system, so they went for a meeting.

May be it's easier to deport someone for breaking immigration laws than it is to deport someone for drug violations. Just a guess.

So did he post "I'll show you my crack if you come to the toilets." ?? ???? I'm sure it was all just a misunderstanding.

Don't blame him.

It was his last resource.
