In my place there are 33 cases in BIg C, but Big C is still open and everything seems to be normal.Same for Kao Yoi where there would be a new cluster..If they don't care about the real numbers, how can the be serious telling that everything is under control?? THey can manipulate the numbers and than they are angry if there will be more cases because the people lower their guard or start coming together again... Yes if there are a few cases it doesn't seems so bad, so why follow the rules???

Still a long way to go to get to 70% vaccinated.  As you can see over 1.77 million jabs have been booster shots.  Not sure they will make it to 70% by the end of the year but they are indeed trying.  Glad to see things progressing

SEOUL, Oct 12 (Reuters) - South Korea will donate 1.1 mln doses of AstraZeneca’s (AZN.L) COVID-19 vaccine to Vietnam and 470,000 doses to Thailand, the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA) said on Tuesday.

Thailand must be ready for influx of tourists from Nov 1, says minister

Foreigners will flock to Thailand now that Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has announced that the country will be reopening on November 1, the Tourism and Sports Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn said on Tuesday.

Pointing out that Thailand is a popular winter destination for travellers from the West, he said the Public Health Ministry should have a strict screening system ready in time.

However, he said, the arrival of foreign tourists will help kickstart the revival of Thailand’s tourism industry by yearend and in the first quarter of next year.

Many are skeptical of the country’s readiness and whether the plans will revive the dying tourism industry as hoped, as new COVID-19 infections and fatalities remain high, while vaccination rates remain low. https://thaip.bs/KrMBz6P

Exactly what my daughter in the US said in my phone call this morning.  Until it's in writing and published in the gazette then all bets are off as it's just wishful thinking and verbiage stated by a PM trying to save his skin.  It is funny though that within 12 hours after the PM stated his wishes the THB gained back ground on all transfer and exchange rates.
