Three new clusters have been discovered in Brunei, as well as three imported cases

Brunei reported 75 additional cases on Tuesday, including three imported cases, bringing the total number of verified cases in the country to 13,321. (Nov 2).


There were 26 new cases to eight existing clusters, according to Minister of Health Dr Mohd Isham Jaafar, who were previously close contacts to multiple positive cases.


Three new clusters with a total of 20 cases have been discovered.
Employees are housed in lodging clusters such as Syazwanes Contractor Cluster, Meem Cluster, and Ban 3 Construction Staffhouse Cluster.


The sources of the illness are being probed in twenty-six new cases.

 

"Two cases came in Brunei from Kuala Lumpur on October 20, while one case arrived from Manila on October 27," Mohd Isham said of the imported cases.


“After no new cases were found for 28 days, Cluster 5182 was closed, bringing the total number of active clusters to 172.”


As of Tuesday, he said, 221 instances had been found, bringing the overall number of recovered cases to 11,723, with 1,508 active cases.


Six cases in Category 5 were admitted to the intensive care unit and required artificial ventilation, according to Mohd Isham.

 

"In the meantime, 15 cases have been classified as Category 4, requiring oxygen support, and are being closely monitored," he stated at the daily press briefing on Tuesday.


"In the last 24 hours, 5,047 samples have been tested for the SARS-CoV-2 virus, increasing the total number of laboratory tests completed since January 2020 to 512,574", said the minister.
