I bought a seagate 120 Ggb HDD this morning, installed it as a slave (removed the jumper) and booted up the machine. Went into BIOS and the computer recognised the drive. set all the options in BIOS to auto. However when machine boots up into windows I cannot see the drive in windows explorer. In properties of My computer I can see it. In device manager when I click on properties it says the disk is offline, any ideas how I can make it online????

Did you try to partition/format it yet? Goto Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management > Storage (Disk Management) and see what it shows.
