Popular Post ThailandRyan
3 hours ago, Kadilo said: That’s your perspective. Clearly everyone’s differ. Some may take a wider look at the overall number of infections/deaths and compare that to the detrimental effect on people’s lives and livelihoods and decided it’s time to move on. That’s what the UK did and decided it was time to learn to live with it and give people those lives back. Seems Thailand is looking to follow suit. More will be revealed at the upcoming meetings as to whether they will further relax restrictions to allow people to get those lives back on track and boost the economy, or they will continue to restrict it. The data suggests the former should happen in time for the busy period. Thailand may be looking to move forward, but the rising cases in Areas like Chiang Mai, and others have definitely put a kibosh on the opening of entertainment venues and bars, which many people do travel for as part of their vacation time, and as someone has been saying all along it will be just a matter of time. Yet it is not happening until possibly 2022 sometime. Thailand's looking to reduce the entry PCR test to possibly an ATK test would definitely assist in bringing tourists in on the Test N Go scheme. Hopeful as one can be that the High season will be salvaged it does not look truly promising at this juncture in time. Bad pressers on the quarantine of Test N Go arrivals has caused a concern for those that would come for only a Two week holiday over the Christmas and New Year period. I wonder if this New Years will be a dry one like last year with no alcohol being served. Luckily last year our New Years outing was saved by being refunded half the price in vouchers for the location at Icon Siam. As far as reaching the Milestone of 100 million jabs that will still be shy of the 70% mark of the entire Thai population and includes the booster jabs and even 4th jabs some have gotten, while others who need them like the elderly still have not had the 1st jab given.

Is that your positive spin on this disastrous news for 1000's of people out of work with no support from the government for over a year. They were expecting easing of measures as outlined before when they said by the 1st Dec. For those of us actually living in Thailand we know the situation on the ground, what makes you think you know better? For me personally I live in one of the Provinces that was hardest hit in terms of the impact it had on the locals and 1000's of expats here. I know how many people have suffered and lost their business, I can still to this day drive through streets and streets of bordered up shops, bars and restaurants despite it getting busier in Bangla. These places used to belong to locals who as a consequence have lost their livelihood, have struggled for basic necessities, sometimes even their next meal. It has touched me many times personally and though friends/acquaintances here. Wriggle room is not needed, financial aid is needed.
