We are going to spend 7 nights in Ko Tao and Ko Phangan in mid-July. We don't have a lot of time, so we were thinking that we would fly from BKK to Ko Samui.

The flights on the Bangkok Air website seem very high. My girlfriend and her friend, who traveled around Asia and Thailand a few years ago, insist that it will be much cheaper to buy the tickets at the airport or from a travel agent in Bangkok the day before or the same day as our flight.

Is this a smart plan? Will we save a significant amount of money? Or should we book our tickets on the Bangkok Air website? Thanks for the information!

In my humble opinion, I think it is a stupid idea. The cost is not that different.

Re-Think , if you want to save some hundreds bahts for booking the day before or the same day as your flight. And If it's full when you book !!!!!!

There is now only 1 airline to flight to K.Samui. You do not want to miss a thing..methinks

No, its not cheaper. Bangkok air is actually cheaper online if you make sure to buy their 6am and 10 pm flights of the day, 2000 baht plus tax. Make sure to click the web only special price.

Alternatively book 12go or AirAsia. Both fly to Surat Thani, and offer discounted tickets if bought well in advance.
