Daily News reported on the opening day of school for the second semester for many of Bangkok's secondary school pupils.

They were at Puranawas School in Taweewattana where deputy Bangkok governor Kriangyot Sudlapha made an inspection visit along with many concerned officials.

Onsite learning has commenced after a long break when the students have learned online.

Many have been off school since Songkran back in April when the most devastating wave of Covid-19 infection hit Thailand and Bangkok in particular.

Now 96% of teachers and school staff have been vaccinated. And more than 80% of high school students have also been jabbed.

Onsite learning commenced for 109 schools in Bangkok on Monday with classes limited to 25 and students going in every other day.

It applies to students in M1- M6 only. Primary classes and kindergartens are still not open.

At this school all ATK swab tests - around 600 - done at the school gates came back negative.
