Two Vietnamese fishing boats seized in Gulf for fishing illegally in Thai waters

Two Vietnamese fishing boats and their five crew members were apprehended by the Thai navy on Tuesday, following an incident in the Gulf of Thailand the previous day, in which a Vietnamese fishing vessel collided with a Royal Thai Navy (RTN) patrol boat.

Thai Charter court rules that only heterosexual marriages are constitutional

Same-sex marriage in Thailand will have to wait, as the Constitutional Court ruled unanimously today (Wednesday) that Section 1448 of the Civil and Commercial Code, defining marriage as being a union between a man and a woman, is constitutional.

Thailand, Bhutan expand bilateral cooperation

BANGKOK (NNT) - The Prime Minister of Thailand today welcomed the incoming Ambassador of Bhutan upon his assumption of duty in Thailand. Both officials have expressed the willingness to further expand bilateral cooperation towards development in areas such as the economy, tourism, and academics.

Thailand seeks 65m COVID-19 jabs for next year

BANGKOK (NNT) - Thailand’s Prime Minister announced the government has set a target to procure 65 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine for next year, including newer versions of the jabs, while more than 70% of the population in 11 provinces have so far received at least one dose of the vaccine.

Overnight house fire causes an estimated 500,000 baht of damage in Pattaya, Chinese man and family escape without injuries

Banglamung, Pattaya, Chonburi–A fire at a two-story townhouse in Banglamung last night (November 17th) caused an estimated 500,000 baht of damage, according to the Pattaya Fire Department. The owner of the home, a Chinese national, and his family managed to escape without injuries.
