Thailand’s prime minister has become the unlikely star of a new music video, posted on the government’s Thai Khu Fah Facebook page, in an effort to promote tourism.

 

The video itself features beautiful scenes of Krabi’s Nopparat Beach and includes the prime minister and his entourage’s visit, prior to the cabinet meeting on November 16th.

 

 

Solo photos and videos of the prime minister were used, along with the song “Sand and Sea”, sung by famous Thai diva Nantida Kaewbuasai back in 1998 and who is currently President of Samut Prakan Provincial Administrative Organisation.

The other day I saw  that the TAT  had also recruited the famous Thai band

"F***ing  Hero" for a promo video ! 

I saw this on that Thai Rath ladyboy news show last night. They were trying to take it seriously, but had a hard time keeping a straight face about it. ????

 

The piece also covered the gargantuan budget he plans to throw at this.

never thought i'd live to see the day that dinosaurs roamed the beach once again!

Oh gawd, don’t! This made me barf a bit. Seriously!

Thank goodness the shots of him prancing in the surf in his Speedo were left on the cutting room floor.

Guaranteed to scare of the tourist who was going to come!

Yeah, the only thing that is a fact here is "unlikely".

I love that song...will never be able to listen to it again... and will cancel the Krabi holiday.

Kindly make sure that the title is corrected as it seems that this video is related to the recent floods, not tourism !

It's actually a con because he's promoting the fact that they need submarines which is why there are all the water shots.

Nothing wrong with the idea of promoting your country but watching this with the sound turned off it looks a bit drab and uninteresting to me.
