City Hall has begun updating its database on migrant workers from Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar currently living and working in Bangkok, requiring both workers and their employers to re-submit their personal and employment information.

As the Covid-19 situation subsides, the update of the migrant worker database began on Monday to gather up-to-date information about migrant workers, which is crucial for managing the employment of these workers while still dealing with the pandemic, said Khachit Chatchawanit, the city clerk.

Migrant worker registration sections at all 50 district offices are now handling at most 30 workers per day from Monday to Friday and at most 50 people every Saturday, he said. Those intending to visit these district offices to update their information are required to book an appointment in advance so to ensure offices do not become overcrowded, he said.
