I have to say, the chap does look a rather large chunky gentleman too, from the picture above).

They make a lovely couple.

They sure do. He reminds me of young Mrs Doubtfire.

All rather sad. Man married HIV riddled hooker.Brings her to Canada and I suppose either either due to lack of money or a want to recreate the romantic beginning of their relationship has her working as a hooker and stripper, also gets HIV sues everyone believing it is not his fault. Well there is a high chance he got the flat puncture in Thailand on his sex tour anyway prior to moving her to Thailand.

The story might read another way though; naive village woman working in gogo bar believe she has met her prince charming and saviour. All goes well and they marry and she believes she is off to Canada to finally escape from her hooking life. He though is only a "holiday rich" farang and is skint all year apart from his sex tour holidays which he saves up for for a year. She gets there, he can not afford married life so she has to go back to "work" again never knowing she already has a very bad disease. He catches it; has her chucked in prison, then deported, then tries to sue her for 30m CAD$; well not her, but the government. Feel sorry for all concerned, but he is basically a prat.
