27-year-old man arrested after holding an 11-year-old girl hostage by knife point in Si Racha

Si Racha – A young man has been arrested after he took an 11-year-old girl hostage by knife point to her neck in Si Racha this week.

 

The Nong Kham Police were notified of the incident in front of a local grocery in the Nong Kham sub-district in the afternoon of December 1st.

 

Law enforcement officers arrived at the scene to find the suspect with the girl in a pickup truck, pointing a knife at her neck. Police negotiated with the man for about five minutes in a tense, high-pressure conversation. The discussion eventually led to the suspect releasing the child after pleas from authorities to leave the girl out of the situation.

 

The man was identified by police as Phonthep Prompakdee, 27. He was taken to the Nong Kham Police Station for a drug test and further legal action.
