Foreign duo arrested in love-triangle murder

Police in Preah Sihanouk province and police in Phnom Penh on Sunday arrested a Chinese man and his Vietnamese lover for allegedly killing another man over a dispute involving a love triangle. The murder took place at about on December 4 at the victim’s rental condominium inside the Blue Sky Apartment located in Buon commune, Preah Sihanouk province’s Sihanoukville.

Sihanoukville city police chief Colonel Tey Visal said yesterday that the two suspects are Li Hongbo, and Mie Pov. Col Visal identified the victim as Jike Munai, a Chinese tourist, and the Vietnamese woman’s former boyfriend.

He said that they were arrested at about on Sunday in Phnom Penh’s Chbar Ampov district. Col Visal said. “The Chinese suspect killed the victim with three shots at his house. After the victim was killed, both suspects fled to hide in Phnom Penh,” he said.
