A wild tiger from a protected area in Uthai Thani province in lower northern Thailand reportedly grabbed a dog and devoured it for its dinner.

The director of Region 12 Midech Charoenkitwanarak confirmed that rangers from Huay Kha Khaeng had found tiger tracks and later located a 10 year old male tiger.

Locals reported that the tiger attacked a dog in a mango orchard 200 meters outside the protected wildlife area, said Thai PBS.

Locals have been warned to keep animals under lock and key.

Information online suggests that last year Thailand had an estimated 177 Indochinese tigers roaming in the wild of its national parks and protected areas.

The authorities should release baby komodo dragons in Thailand. The locals will mistake them for fully-grown monitor lizards. Meanwhile the soi dog menace disappears. :giggle:

Somehow I don't think the tiger took the trouble to cook it.

So there's a wild tiger hunting pray in a mango orchard, presumably where farmhands do seasonal work?

I think I'd be a bit wary of wandering out myself.

Even if it's less man eating tiger, more mango eating tiger.

But now the tiger shall return to that same area  , as it remember him to a feeding stock place ..... and that could be a worrying thing .....

The one outside a local shop that tries to get me off my bike every morning needs sorting out the same way.

The Tiger might be an immigrant from Korea

Not that easy . It takes days of suffering for a prey to succumb to a dragon's  bite .

Maybe you wanna volunteer. You or your dog first ??

Do Tigers need a pass to leave the protected area. As it seems there is a pass or an app for anything you do now.

Ruff!

Oh. Where did they  go eat?

Oversize font reset to normal.

I guess the pork shortage has finally reached the forests of Southern Thailand?  ASF probably can infect wild pigs so their populations might really be dropping.

If I worked in that Mango Field I'd want a couple slow moving dogs with me.

Only in the case of large prey. Something like a dog would be easy for a dragon to kill and eat. If something like a buffalo they stand a chance of being kicked or gored so it's bite and leave until it's really sick and not a danger to them.

throw food at him and he will friend you...end of problem.
7's have cheap small bags of dog treats.

It says they found a 10 year old male tiger, without further details. At that age it's getting towards the end of it's life and may be taking dogs as easy prey.
