Sleep medicine

I suggest not to look for something that is sold illegally OTC, go to the local psychiatric hospital and get the medicine very cheap and legal.

Change diet, exercise, but not too late and meditate twice a day worked for me(after being addicted to valium).

The best non-addictive thing is melatonin. https://www.lazada.co.th/products/melatonin-10-mg-gummies-strawberry-90-gummies-i2891348216-s10560723100.html?spm=a2o4m.searchlist.list.5.1a3332aa5gDzRB&search=1

Similar situation......wrecked by 2200 then dead to the world for four hours, then wide awake.

I am pretty sure I need to get back into a vigourous exercise routine to sleep properly.......but for now it is Wordle, read the news (again), read a book......anything but trying to force myself back to sleep.

You seem to have an addictive personality. Valium, alcohol. Must be bad. Some people are like that.

I do agree though about the exercise for me cardio did it.

And i did try valium (worked for a few days), melatonin (worked a bit too), dream juice (dutch medicine) worked a few days too, CBD worked a bit too,  those anti histamine stuff works a few days too. I can't get addicted to stuff like that as it wont work after a few days so taking it is useless.

Recently i found that cardio did the trick that suprised me as i did weight lifting quite intense and thought it would count as exercise. But its not that effective for sleem. Once I added cardio i could sleep without all those stupid medicines. I occasionally use dream juice or anti histamine or melatonin but in general i sleep without anything now.

Exercise did it for me, but not the weight lifting, the cardio. Strange but true.

99% sure it is what I need to do.

Been traveling a lot and had no desire to exercise on top of all the hassle of traveling.

Start tomorrow.....555

I am alternating between Lorazepam, Clonazepam and Zolpidem. They are all very effective to put you to sleep and rest well.

I got no issue having them prescribed in many different hospitals over the last years. A pack of 200 Clonazepam costed me about 3000 bahts at Bangkok Hospital, but you will pay cheaper in a public hospital.

Hope you'll sleep well soon!

Agree, I take it once or twice a week for a good night's sleep. Non-addictive, drowsy antihistamine.

It will be 6 am, and I'm awake because of my bladder. Go back to bed, thinking another half hour before I get up for breakfast. Wake up at 8.30, what happened?

I was prescribed Lorazepam after getting rather stressed following an initial cancer diagnosis, which turned out to be benign lesion!

The Lorazepam did nothing for me at 2mg, can I ask what dosage you are/were taking?

I've used "Melatonin" occasionally.  It's natural sleep aid.

A little excersise and no alcohol will help.

I also bought a really comfortable posture pedic bed from Central.

Also having two young kids knocks me out by the end of the day.

I've seen Melatonin at a few pharmacies in bigger cities.  Its more expensive in Thailand.

If you have a friend in the US send it is pretty cheap from COSTCO.

Have you tried Melatonin? It is especially helpful for sleep maintainence.

You can get it from Lazada, Puritan Pride brand is good.  Everyone is different, for me 10mg  works well but for others that might be too much.

You might also do well to have a sleep study done as you might have sleep apnea, would explain the falling asleep OK then waking up a few hours later.

Side effects of melatonin are drowsiness, fatigue, headache, dizziness, and temporary depression. People suffering from depression, or those taking medication for depression, should therefore avoid this substance, as should those taking medication for blood thinning or type 2 diabetes. Due to the drowsiness that may occur, it is It is preferable not to drive vehicles or operate machine tools in the hours following the intake of melatonin. Melatonin could increase the hypnotic effects of other substances such as medicines, plants, alcohol or drugs. It may also interact with high blood pressure medications. Please note that fluvoxamine (Floxyfral, Generic Fluvoxamine, a drug for depression and obsessive-compulsive disorder) greatly increases the absorption of melatonin by the intestine and can amplify its effects.

People are right when they say dont take sleeping tablets, you dont get natural sleep and feel like <deleted> the next day .

About 5 months ago i complained to my heart specialist about having foot problems ( can be a by product of heart trouble) anyway he gave me gabapentin, it is used for many problems, but did not work ,however it has a side effect it makes you sleep, and its natural sleep, google it i take a 300mg tab 3 hrs before bedtime and sleep so well ,you can buy them at a pharmacist and they are not expensive, check out sleep and Gabapentin in google ,believe me they have been a lifesaver .

I take only 0.5 mg (sometime, 1mg if I feel really stressed or anxious). It's doing the job nicely for me, without any side effects, and I am waking up very well rested the next morning. However, I am trying to not take it everyday, as Benzos addiction is very common and in some case, the withdrawal can be a real nightmare.

Also, I often prefer to take Clonazepam over Lorazepam as the effect last longer, so you are less likely to wake up in the middle of the night. But Clonazepam can take up to 1.5h to feel the effects (it takes only 10-15 minutes with Lorazepam).

In some extreme case, like if I am surrounded by a lot of noises or if I know I will not be able to sleep because I drank to much coffee or something like this, I am taking Zolpidem 10mg. That, it's really strong stuff. It will knock you out for sure, but you will feel a little bit hangover the next morning. But still, it's better to feel a little bit hangover than not sleeping for 3 days!

Then you'll eventually have to pay the piper as Clonazepam and Lorazapam are benzodiazapines and benzo withdrawal is no joke.  I used diazepam on occasion but never longer than a few days. I've had to help a family member withdrawal from a benzo addiction.  It was not fun.

I've had insomnia problems most of my adult life.  What I do most of the time now is get in 30 minimum to 45 minutes or an hour of exercise (incline treadmills is my go to exercise) and then take 10 mg of Melatonin a few hours before bedtime.  I'll also use Atarax (hydroxyzine) sometimes.  Diazepam seldom. Sauna use during the afternoon also help (I've got a sauna).

I recommend staying away from benzodiazapine unless you have good control of your ability to use and not abuse drugs with the potential to create additions.
For the guy buying 200 tabs of Klonopin for sleep.  Best of luck when you either run out or decide to stop.  You'll probably need this link below and you'll wish you didn't.  Op!  You don't want to go there - no regular use of benzodizapines.  Doctors here will hand them out like candy - get a small number of tablets and dole them out only when you really need them - and you don't need them every day.  Use exercise and melatonin as your regular regime.  Other medications occasionally and only temporarily.  Learn some mindfulness exercises and breathing to shut off the internal dialogue.  Convince your mind that all the problems you want to think about at night will be there in the morning - then let go of the mind chatter.  Easier said then done - it takes practice. Best of luck!

Those 200 tabs will last for at least the next 2 years or more! I take Benzos since about 5 years now. I often spend many days, even weeks, without taking it without any issue, as I am taking a low dose and not taking it everyday to avoid the dependence.

But I agree that users need to be careful with Benzos, as some people can develop addiction very quickly to this stuff.
