BANGKOK, Feb 22 (TNA) – The Thai Chamber of Commerce asks the government to call off a repeated RT-PCR test for COVID-19 on visitors entering the country through the Test & Go scheme on day 5 after their arrival to provide visitors with convenience.

Sanan Angubolkul, chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, said business operators and provincial chambers of commerce wanted the government to shorten the quarantine period and reduce the number of COVID-19 tests to welcome visitors.

At present, visitors through Test & Go must conduct three RT-PCR tests – the first test within 72 hours before arrival, the second on the day of arrival and the third on day 5 after arrival.

Keep it the way it is - or - add more.  You can never be too safe!!!  Covid infected tourists will be the end of us all.

the majority of entering thailand are thai and not necessarily visitors.

they well might be businessmen, traders coming back home.

now, forcing them into quarantine would knock them off from work for another 10 days.

Don't forget the 4th test to go back to their home country (in many cases currently). Get your noses ready gentlemen!

I've just had a week in the Canaries flying from UK. No tests required, only PLF forms entering each country. No cost to me, and extremely easy. Thailand needs to do the same, or tourism as they used to know it will not revive.

to many countries there was no need for any tests, once you have vax.

Everywhere now restrictions are being lifted (bag china, japan, korea)

Why not? It apparently has done in the Canaries by your claim after being closed once. What concerns me is they seem to want to rebuild it in a different and controlled format .... Restrictions will be gone soon... this year likely.
