Now, for a bit of a look at a local beach that, although not as popular as Jomtien or Koh Larn Beaches, has its own charm.

Years ago the mayor of Pattaya declared Wong Amat beach public. But since then vendors have taken over it just like everywhere else in Thailand. The Thai's do not know the word "Public" to them any beach, road, sidewalk is a place to set up shop and make money. Very sad and pathetic.

Certainly was "a bit".......for people who have never been there I suggest they would not get much of an idea from that video.

Quite, and only one aspect.

A friend of mine some time ago bought a condo "off plan", by the time it was built the area had been invaded by Russians and had become quite dangerous, something that may improve now.

He has tried to sell it without much success.

Maybe one day it will sink in, you cannot get western standards at Thai prices.

One has to assume you would rather see a 3000 baht tourist tax to get the water tested, the Thais are certainly not bothered.

Then of course there is the cost of cleaning the water to keep you happy,  an exit tax as well as an entry tax?
