Opposition leader calls on government to do more to reduce fuel prices

The deputy leader of the Pheu Thai Party on Monday called on the government to do more to combat inflation and curb energy prices.

 

The rise in global energy prices due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the rise in inflation has hit Thailand’s manufacturing and agricultural sectors hard with the poorest feeling the brunt of the knock-on effects.

 

“Prime Minister Prayut [Chan-ocha] must do all he can to lower energy prices to help and reduce the people’s cost of living,” said Pichai Naripthaphan, the Pheu Thai Deputy Leader.

The government can only do so much, but companies like CP could do a lot more, they're enjoying the extra profit.
