world wide income taxation update
Your post indicates the Thai's will implement this policy to the letter of the law, for everyone. I don't have that confidence in them, for the majority of expats. My opinion is they will pull out the law book for high net worth individuals. For the rest, I have a feeling it very well may be another BS earner for visa / extension, paying for a TRD document, similar to the Certificate of Residence that we pay 300 baht for, but should be free. Time will tell. -

Stealing a Federal Election
Look back on the 2016 election, you'll see that around 2 weeks before the election DT was already crying that the election was rigged against him. When the vote came out in his favor some election entity should have called him on the rug and demanded info in this regard ("Russia, if you're listening . . . "). The way DT keeps bringing up russiarussiarussia in attempt to keep in front of it he is actually reminding us of it. -

46 days inside Australia every 3 years should see you ok, but that will come out in the wash. Is that the majority of expats living in Thailand? Many haven't been back to Australia in several years. Any advice for those guys, and they are many? -

Australian Aged Pension
Something discussed months ago, yet, some either forgot, disbelieve, or refuse to accept. Changed to 30% recently. Not much better though. The pension is deemed and income. The pension is taxable. Expats are non residents, but hey, it's only for guy guys like Paul Hogan. Centerlink know you are outside Australia, but fear not Centerlink, it's the TRD an Aussie pensioner must fear. -

Samsung A55 5G - Differing model numbers for same phone
Well....if you appreciated that response...let me give you another response.....OK? I recently purchased the A55 5G. On paper, the specs look super-good (for the money).... And, the price is OK if you buy it in Thailand....and I forget what I paid, but you can check-out the most recent pricing from Samsung, in Thailand. The phone that I bought is this configuration: I do not like Android 14, or at least the Samsung garbage version on this phone. However.... This phone has a lot of plusses, such as the microSD, the 12GB of RAM, and the 256GB of internal storage. Would I buy it again? YES, I definitely would. ======== However, the negatives include what I consider to be much poorer volume than my NOTE4. Also, I still like my NOTE4 better, just from the perspective of the feel of it and the functioning of it. The NOTE4 was an amazing phone for its time. ========= I have no idea what you might choose to do....but..... I like this phone that I purchased a few weeks ago. Especially, I like the 12GB of RAM and the 256GB of internal memory. The only question is.....where to buy it at the cheapest price...... Amazon, as far as I could see, weeks ago, was cheaper. =============== I need a case for this phone...however....since.... This phone is very slippery. No doubt, I will drop it soon, unless I get my ordered case...PDQ......!! ========== I do not like the inferior responsiveness of the touch screen on this phone, compared to my old NOTE4.... Or, perhaps, this is just my perception, and not really based on reality..... As you know.... I, too, am not reality-based. Good Phone for the money. I would DEF buy it again!- 1

Australian Aged Pension
Changed to 30% on 1st July 2024. At this stage, but they have given warning of of world wide taxation. They have signed up for it. I have posted Article 19 of the DTA deals with "government service pensions." Posted a youtube video about it also. Are they wrong?
