Current requirements for extending visa exempt entry

If you were to get a 30 day extension it would probably be ending early enough to apply for the covid 19 extension on or before July 24th when the current order for them ends. The order for theme could possibley be extended again for another 60 days.

At this time you only tick a few boxes on a blank affidavit immigration has you complete and sign. Only the covid 19 pandemic is enough to get the extension.

My visa exempt entry stamp notes 10th July as end date.

If I would go get an extension today, the end date would change to 10th July + 30 days = 9th August, would it not?

But I could then still apply for Covid extension on,  say, 23rd July?

I went to ask the guy about the errors on the "TM 30" screenshot.

He said it is the mistake of the person at Immigration doing the input in the computer system.

He advised I should go to immigration at Meuang Thong Thani to have it rectified.

He just did not grasp my idea that he could just do a new report, as if I  had been gone for a week and checked in again (new arrival), or he just didn't want to do it.

This all went down in Thai btw.

Could this correction only be done at Meuang Thong Thani Immigration (or CW)?

Or also somewhere else? Not just at a police station?

MTT is actually further away for me than CW (which is also quite far away).

I also asked my Thai girlfriend who works at a hotel, and she asked around, and said that there they only take the papers to report once a week or once a fortnight.

So just checking in a hotel for one night to get a proper copy of TM 30 form, isn't a guaranteed solution if the hotel gets TM30 forms back after a week or so, if they get anything back at all.

That is certainly not something that immigration would complete. When the report is done online all the info is entered by the person doing it and it is submitted to immigration and their is no receipt for it.

I don't think that guy does any online report. He fills in a paper form (he showed me) and hands it to the police officer that comes round everyday.

He had me sign the form also the other day (which was a week after I arrived).

There is also no computer at his counter btw.

Anyway, if there is no receipt for it, then how can I obtain a copy of the TM30 receipt that everyone is talking about, and I apparently need to do an extension of visa exempt entry?

My girlfriend went to ask the right person at her hotel, and he confirmed that they in fact note every arrival on a form, and every day a policeman comes to collect the form.

The next day or so, they do get receipts back for each report, which is called "RECEIPT OF NOTIFICATION", signed by an immigration officer, with details of the hotel guest.

But nowhere does it note "TM30".

She send me a picture of one such receipt.

We then asked if he could do a report for me, or me even staying there a night, and then giving me a copy of 'my' receipt.

But he then got very anxious to know what I would do with a copy of such receipt and where exactly I would take it. When I said I would take it to Thai immigration, he got very concerned and very reluctant, saying they often had problems with immigration calling them about foreign guests.

When I explained I needed it to do an extension, and that it was a common requirement, he said I should just go to my own embassy and get an extension ????, don't know where he got that from.

Perhaps I should just try doing the extension without any TM30?

The receipt does not have TM30 on it. Receipt of notification is shown on it. Your signature is not required for on a TM30 form.

Screen grab of the receipt.

Yes that is the receipt I received a photo of.

Not the form that I signed btw.

Could I have the guy fill it in and then have it signed by nearby police station?

What is local immigration office anyway? What distance from the immigration office makes it local? 5 KM? 10 KM?

Which area are you staying.

Your location determines which immigration office you deal with.

BTW forget the police office bit.

Nothing to do with immigration or filing a TM30.

You state ....

"wants to extend the 30-day stay in Thailand after having arrived on visa exempt?"

Since you entered visa exempt you will attend IT square Laski mall for extension.

3rd floor. The mall is located opposite Laski station on the Red like.

It's about 3-5km from CW immigration.

Mueang Thong Thani is closed.

I see, so I need to go to Laksi, thanks.

Will I need a TM30 receipt?

Just extended my permit (note : not visa) today (Jun 22) for another 30 days at the Bangkok immigration office (IT Square location).  I am surprise they didn’t ask for TM30, the ChiangMai office did ask for TM30 when I did the extension in April. The process is fast, only took me 1 hr to have my passport in hand with the extended permit.

I do have a question, does any one know how many times could one do this type of 30 days PERMIT extension without leaving Thailand at all?

Regards

Re the TM30 it's one of those things where the answer is "may be required".

Sometimes it's the doc check folk that just insist upon a standard list.

TM30 being one.

From some of your posts it seems you have some sort of print out from your hotel?

Normally a hotel does it online and can provide an instant screenshot that shows it has been filed.

Take along anything the hotel can provide.

If all else fails you can check into a cheap hotel that can do TM30 online and provide you with screenshot.

I did get a screenshot, but the problem is that the information is incorrect, namely my passport number is incorrect, as wel as my country and date of arrival.

I am just concerned that especially the incorrect passport number (only the last digit is incorrect) will create a problem when doing the extension.

Yes read that.

IMO I don't think they will check it closely.

Possibly just look at name and address (to check address province)

Worst thing is send you away to make a TM30.

Your other option is to use agent.

More appropriate for covid extension than a simple 30 day extension but that option is available.

Note a post above where that guy was not asked for tm30 at Laski.

Thanks for the advise.

I think I will just try it first with what I do have, and hope they don't ask for TM 30, and otherwise show the screenshot.

If you obtained an extension at CM in April than ran till June 22+. ??

What type of extension?

You can only obtain one 30 day extension.

The extension that you just received....are you sure you didn't obtain a covid extension and we're given an under consideration stamp

I left Thailand in May for two weeks then back Thailand again in Jun. I don’t know anything about covid extension, all they told me was i only able to extend to 30 days.

Did not realize that you had exited Thailand and returned.

Indeed you just now obtained a 30 day extension.

You could consider obtaining a covid extension just prior to July 25.

Guess it depends on how long you wish to stay in Thailand.

Update: I met the lady that actually owns this place and she kindly offered to just do the report online again on your mobile and took me through it.

This time the details are correct.

She will give me a screenshot of the receipt once received.

She did tell me she only has access to the reports she's done and the receipts for 7 days.

So at least I will have a correct screenshot to take to Laksi.
