Songkran date Pattaya.

Is it 13 -16 April same.as other places and hope it's not open season water Splashing

In the Past, Pattaya had a delayed Songkran, starting the day it ended in the rest of the country and continuing 4 more days.  This was basically a tourist grab for those who hadn't gotten their fill of water tossing and public chaos.  Both Pattaya Beach Roads & Jomtien Beach rd would have epic traffic jams as multitudes of pick-ups laden with inebriated family groups and barrels of water would engage in water canon combat with the equally inebriated denizens of the multitude of beer bars that line both roadways.

In the last 10 years, it just turned into one elongated Songkran, starting on the national date, then continuing until Marchapran was drained.

I have soon no public confirmation of this extended Songkran mentioned in this year's schedule.

Needs a glass bowl to foresee whether the strict bans will actually be enforced (no water splashing, no alcohol in public [street, beach etc]).

Songkran official dates are 13 to 15 but there is the weekend following (16, 17).

Be prepared for some crowds/heavy traffic at the hotspots.

I read that there will some traditional festivity will be hold on he weekend?

Yawn.

Mr. Sontaya Khunpluem, the Pattaya mayor, gave the green light for Songkran to continue this year which will take place from April 18th to April 20th in the Pattaya, Naklua, and Bang Saray areas. The national holidays will be from April 13th-April 15th. This will be the first time since 2019 “Wan Lai” on April 19th, or the day of water, will be allowed in Pattaya due to Covid-19 precautions. However, it’s unclear what this will look like as water play and fights will be banned due to the still ongoing spread of the virus.
