French Red Cross sponsored the construction of Baan Tawan Chai Children Village

The Director of Tawanchai Foundation, Dr. Supalak Kanchanamethakul, and the President of Lions Phuket Andaman Sea Association, Mr. Lion Helmut, met Phuket Governor Nirand Kalayanamitr and delivered the Tawanchai Children Village sponsored by the French Red Cross on June 29th, 2007 at Baan Ko Sire, Phuket.

Dr. Supalak says the French Red Cross provided the financial support of more than 60 million baht for the Tawan Chai Children Village, and the official opening ceremony is scheduled on June 29th. The village will take care of the underprivileged, the abandoned, and children who were sexually abused. There are currently twenty children under the Tawan Chai Foundation. The Foundation supports the education fees and accommodations along with 24-hour caretakers.

The foundation can support about 140 less-fortunate children aged between two to eighteen years old.
