Though more than 2.8 million people in Thailand have already received their fourth jab against COVID-19, many others are still skeptical about what good a “second booster” can do.

 

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has yet to recommend the fourth dose, citing a lack of good evidence to back the recommendation. Hence, countries have taken different approaches where the second booster is concerned.

In Thailand, the government is encouraging people to get the fourth jab and has opened several channels for them to get their shot for free.

Never got a first booster and only got the initial 2 injections so could get on airplanes. 

I'm off to Germany in a fortnight and getting a prepaid moderna second booster only 3 months after my first booster just to use up what I paid for. Might as well.

Yeh nah, I'm sitting on the fence, 3 Pfizer jabs should do me fine, although I will look at things in August when it will be 6 months since I received my 1st booster, that said, prior to my 1st booster, I did a blood test which showed that the antibodies were waning so got the 1st booster, just to be sure, to be sure as Paddy told me.

 

What the government isn't telling people is that our T-cells should take over when and if we do get this virus, and of course we should survive it if we have been vaccinated.

 

They are also failing to advise us of the downside of getting too many doses, i.e. that it can do to our immune system as many top Dr's in their fields of immunology and virology have said.

 

Did I mention Anutin is not qualified in his elected position and that the WHO have got this one right thus far IMO.

Is the initial 2 shots good enough to be considered vaccinated when entering Thailand? I believe I read it requires one booster to qualify.

Had it not been for an opportunity I would not have bothered with a booster.... by then it looked like Omicron would be wiping out Covid. They were doing free jabs really close to where I live so I simply decided to go along... the two prior ones had not killed me, nor had I had ill effects, and thought the booster might become a requirement. As it was, for some strange reason, that jab hurt and I had a painful shoulder for nearly a month. Heaven I hope this is done with now!

Don't know the answer to that. Got mine here and only and only flying domestic.

This is the most stupid post ever. Of course its worth it. We get annual flu shots too. The anti-vaxxers are probably going nuts over this trash.

Same for me, 2 X Astra and one Pfizer booster administered 2 minutes walk from my home.

Maybe will go get a 2nd booster if they use the same facility...

after that will consider what to do next year.

...It's all about your personal condition...it would not be proper to reveal here whether you are immuno-compromised etc. etc...best you consult your GP and be guided by them.

US CDC has no problems anybody over 50 getting 2nd boosters. However, the recommend people in following situations to get 2nd boosters.

• Being moderately or severely immunocompromised
• Being more likely to be exposed to COVID-19 through your job, where you live, or other factors (such as frequent travel or large gatherings)
• Being in an area with medium to high COVID-19 community levels
• Living with someone who is unvaccinated

Of course it is. Never refuse an offer of help. Too many have died already. A vaccinated public can make this pandemic a bad memory instead of an ongoing crisis.

Two is enough (at the moment), based on my trips in. Of course that may change.

 

BTW - anyone with a UK NHS number can now have overseas Covid shots added to their UK vaccination record. There used to be a requirement also to be registered with a UK GP, but not now. I just added a Thai AZ shot from last year so I have all my shots on one record.

It's interesting to know that the CDC receives huge amounts of money for big pharma, that said it would be hard to say that there is a conflict of interest when big pharma are directly contributing to the CDC, after all they are an independent organisation.

 

I also found it interesting that 1/4 of FDA employers have gone to work for big pharma, the so called revolving doors.

Most people don’t judge getting the vaccine based on health or protection.  They base it on if they have to pay for it or not.  
 Being able to buy booze or when the bars will open normally seem to take precedence over everything else here.
