“I’m ready to be everyone’s governor. Whether you voted for me or not, I will serve all of you equally. I wish us to go forward together. We may have different points of view, but please don’t dislike or get mad with each other,” said Chadchart at the press conference 8:40pm.

Some good words in there. Now let's see if that leads to good actions.

"Chadchart has proposed 214 policies or projects which he summed up as “good issues”, namely a good environment, good public safety, a good economy, a  good health service, good and convenient travel, good creation of space and business opportunities for new generations, good education, good management and good structure for Bangkok, such as good town planning."

Quite satisfying that he got more than 50% of the votes (around 1.3 million, so more than all the other candidates combined) while incumbent Asawin managed just 8% and came fourth.

History usually comes full circle and bites you in the rear-end.

Asawin has been useless most of the time, now the people get a vote they can get him out.

This guy graduated from MIT. Maybe he has what it takes to fix the flooding problems. Maybe he can even figure out a way to get some of the trucks off the road in Central Bangkok. And how about the air? Can he come up with ways to help alleviate the horrendous air quality? Anything has to be better than Aswin. 8%? Talk about rejection. See ya!

Bangkok Governor-elect Chadchart begins his day jogging in Lumpini Park

Chadchart Sittipunt, the winner of the 2022 Bangkok gubernatorial election, according to unofficial results which show him attracting a record-high of over 1.38 million votes, began his first day as Bangkok Governor-elect by jogging with his team in Lumpini Park at dawn this morning (Monday).

Chadchart started jogging at 5.30am, with many other fitness fans coming to take photos with him. The politician, dubbed by some as “The Hulk” for his physical fitness and dynamism, revealed that he usually runs 10 kilometres around Lumpini Park each day. He explained that jogging is part of his daily routine and it is that which inspired him to run for governor of Bangkok, aiming to improve the city after he made new friends and exchanged views with the people in the park.

Chadchart also said that he is ready to start work as the new governor by taking a look at the existing problems in each area. Asked whether flooding will be the first thing he will fix, Chadchart responded that, even though flooding is a huge problem for Bangkok, we must not forget other issues, such as pedestrian crossings and road safety.

So a  Yingluck minister wins a landslide victory in Thailand's highest populated jurisdiction. The greens should be worried I would think

Bangkokians also voted for 50 local representatives to run the Bangkok Metropolitan Council on Sunday, Phue Thai won the largest share with 19 followed by Move Forward 14 and Dem 9. Signs of things to come next election. New generation of Bangkokians will be looking for a paradigm change to their parents steafast loyalty to the establishment. Blurring of the colours; I hope.

As well as jogging seems he's already got a handle on the side-step.
