Hua Hin announced as national winner of WWF’s One Planet City Challenge (OPCC) 2022

Hua Hin has been announced as the winner of a major award in recognition of the city’s efforts to tackle climate change.

 

On Sunday (May 22), Hua Hin Mayor Mr. Nopporn Wutthikul revealed that Hua Hin had been crowned the national winner of the World Wide Fund for Nature’s (WWF) One Planet City Challenge (OPCC) competition 2022.

WWF initiated the OPCC to recognise cities for their climate actions and ambitions, and assess whether they align with the goals agreed upon in the Paris Agreement.

 

Each finalist was evaluated by an international jury panel, which is made up of experts specializing in urban sustainability.

If that's you're thinking,  though to me shows your Anti USA stance, and nothing about what I posted.  

 

Just happens to be 2 of the most notable awards to idiots, from one of the most prestigious organizations, that as I stated, came to mind.

 

Don't follow awards, so those 2 came to mind, as probably most people would agree and or relate to.  But hey, read into it whatever fits your spin.

 

In case you didn't know Nobels awarded from Sweden, I believe, not USA.

The way I read it, a team on International experts selected Hua Hin above two other cities in Thailand. How does that score relate to other countries? Which country has the most public green space per resident? I have a suspicion that Hua Hin counted golf courses.........????

I have to agree with bbko... definately seems like bringing U.S. politics into it.  WWF is not a political organization.  It is an independent conservation organization based in Switzerland working to sustain the natural world.  It gave an award to Hua Hin and other cities to recognize them for their work toward an international goal agreed on by virtually all countries in the world.  Recognition of progress toward this goal is natural and has nothing to do with Obama or Nobel Peace awards for efforts to strengthen international diplomacy.

 

If non-related awards to American politicians (that you think are "idiots") even though you "don't follow awards" or know about WWF comes to mind, then it can only be viewed as bring politics into it.
