Department of Medical Sciences to create nationwide network to report disease occurence

The Department of Medical Sciences will be establishing a national communication network to report high risk diseases such as avian flu.

The Director General of the Department of Medical Sciences MD Paijit Warachit (์ไพจิตร์ วราชิต) reports that emerging strains of diseases such as avian flu pose a direct threat to the safety of members of the public and the economic stability of the nation. Therefore authorities are establishing a national network to communicate findings and report new outbreak locations for efficient containment and mitigation.

MD Paijit reports that operational policy training will begin in laboratories nationwide and will include knowledge provision that will allow personnel to assess risk of emerging diseases as well as develop abilities to communicate their findings and address the issue in a concrete manner.

Thats what I thought - I might just have to check this with medical colleagues in Thailand as I am sure they do!

Rather than creating a new network, why not a special site- on the Internet? (or maybe that's what they mean).
