The Prime Minister and the committee must listen to the opinions of experts for ensuring the prudence and safety of the people.

Of course, though it doesn’t take an expert to realise that not wearing a mask while driving alone or sitting on the beach alone is not going to affect anyone. Common sense required = outdoors: up to you.

It's like they're making a decision about 'assisted dying' rather than just allowing people outside in fresh air to go maskless

Yes, take the chance and move forward, what the worse that can happened? after giving 1 million marijuana plant to any Somchai and Tik surly you can take the chance on moving those pieces of rags of our faces now...

I don't understand there are so many studies about every decision , subject, issues and still they don't know anything and can't make easy decisions....How difficult it can be that even a child can understand ... 2.500 new Covid cases a day on 70. million people is 0,004 %... Why should 99,996 wear a mask if the risk is so low??

head upright - find ears - feel for elastic cords x2 behind ears - pull backwards and out, if you have very large ears "ahem" Mr Prayuth - you may need assistance

Some people are yes, often under the chin too.

I don't know why they are dragging their heels on this, but if you want to wander the street of Pattaya mask-less, it is not an issue. Carry one for the Mall.... need to get out of the heat.

Yes many seem to be worried about the rule still being on the books, but there  have been zero people picked on over this. Even many locals are not bothering ,,,,

Having just spent 2 months in Europe it was weird to return to still see the habitual mask wearing.

Did it strike you as odd that motorcyclists all wore helmets and people stopped at red traffic lights and pedestrian crossings in Europe?

With the high levels of pollution in Bangkok it actually is more akin to assisted dying than enjoying fresh air????

World leaders in shilly shallying.

In Malaysia and Singapore outside masks were removed two months ago but there does not appear to be any desire to go further and remove them indoors.

In Malaysia masks are worn outdoors by almost all of the Chinese community. Malays and Indians far less.

It is getting to the point to utter stupidity, and a total lack of common sense. It is really about keeping the people scared, at this time. Numbers continue to drop, standard cloth masks have limited effectiveness, wearing them outdoors is downright silly, and this ultra paranoid behavior has to stop. The government and goons like Anutin are largely responsible for an environment of fear at this stage of the game. This is about maintaining paranoia, control, and fear. After all, you would not want the people to get too comfortable. They might take to the streets again, and show their disdain for this thoroughly toxic, and nearly useless administration.

Questioning the narrative is essential to life, prosperity and well being. Being a lemming is not a desirable trait. We all know how minor the effect of a cloth mask is. Defy nonsense. Be disobedient. Defy stupidity and big brother's diabolical scare mongering nonsense, every chance you get.

The new motto. "Come visit the land of cowards, where there are masks as far as the eye can see". Even outdoors. Even on motorbikes! Masks, and more masks everywhere. A recipe for a great vacation. Masks and reduced nightlife. Come and have some fun! Thailand is unique. We are one of the few nations left that asks you to wear a mask everywhere you go. And though we already said masks would be scrapped in two weeks, we had a one day spike, and since we are neither courageous nor do we practice common sense, we will keep wearing them for a year or more. Even outdoors. Even on the beach.

Hopefully, we will see alot of civil disobedience. I stopped wearing a mask yesterday. At least outdoors. They said June 15th, remember? Then they changed their minds. That is on them, not me! This is getting ridiculous. Defy stupidity and oppression! Embrace science and common sense.

Thailand is likely one of the last remaining countries in the world to require this. It is juvenile. It is oppressive. It is sheer denial of science. Especially mask use outdoors. It is likely a way to keep the people afraid, paranoid and prevent them from taking to the streets and expressing their extreme disappointment with the leadership here, who have failed them on nearly every level and are despised.

Masks disappear and so does the emergency decree.

Common sense is not so common.

I see no effort to keep the people 'scared'.... just a typical and usual Thai dragging of feet over getting things done.....

This is ONLY about fear, at this time. Nothing else. The number have dropped to the point where masking barely serves a function anymore. Without masks, people begin to feel normal again.

What on earth are you on about? Mask wearing outside is getting pretty loose these days in Pattaya....I will likely have to start wearing one again on the bike as we get back to so called normal, the damned tourists return, traffic becomes heavy again.

I will be really shock surprise if they remove TP completely after Friday meeting since TP is a far greater topic.

If they are talking or stuck on a mask how are they going to deal with a larger subject! ????

How so? The masks effect 70 million Thai people living in the country. TP was removed for Thais so it only effect non Thais coming in, and according to many accounts here on AN it is a very easy procedure that takes a few minutes. Both those measures have no contribution to fighting COVID, yet the masks are the bigger issue

That is your opinion no problem.  But there is a larger picture that is how I'm looking at it. Their economy is crushed now I'm sure someone would make a debate about that but many are out of jobs and suffering and I'm not hearing about it I'm here with boots on the ground.

I have nothing against the mask I wear it each day and will continue even if they removed it if other choice is the same you won't see me jumping in anyone face asking why?  I'm not jumping on the democracy stuff of choice I have enough sense based on the given situation here to know when and why I need to wear one.

If you read you will find it isn't as easy as one makes it out to be applying for the TP, not everyone is techno enough plus you got the insurance unless one has their head in the sand knows it is nothing but a scam on the part of the controlling insurance interest.

If the government really believe in the mask then it should be a easy call and follow what they preach but that isn't the case the fact they want to study the problem now shows they don't have a clue. My thought as it has already proven the less restrictions the more people will arrive I have nothing against those not being vaccinated to have more restrictions but in the end Covid or new Covid is here to stay for sometime we need to learn how to live with it and have medical procedure setup to help everyone.

I say again open the country up learn to live with it all the talk now restriction I see here in Thailand aren't being enforced anyways blaming foreigners for the spread is nonsense since the facts have proven the outbreak of the Delta came from their own borders with the massive illegal migrants workers be brought in.

Now this is all my opinion agree or disagree but when it comes to the mask, it is a small thing open and live with it then worry about the mask!  You don't want to wear one then don't!

You will invite another few million Indian tourists. Great suggestions.
