Daily News Thai Caption: Arrested!

Daily News reported that the Surin police announced the arrest by Pattaya police of a suspect in the case of the murder of 31 year old transgender Theerapong.

As reported by ASEAN NOW yesterday, Theerapong was found in a storeroom of a house in Kang-en subdistrict of Prasat district. Decomposition had set in and the murder was believed to have taken place elsewhere in the house some weeks prior.

Pattaya police took a man called Mr Liternia into custody. His nationality could not be confirmed as yet.

The media said he was hiding in Pattaya.

He has been taken to Surin and DNA checks are being made.

The media further reported that the scene of the murder was all quiet while the deceased's mother's property nearby was a hub of sad activity where a funeral was being arranged.

This is due to take place imminently.

that was fast arrest, within a day or two of warrant.

Even if they did not disclose publicly his picture or description.

Did he check in to Pattaya hotel in his own name?

Passport...????

Reminds me of Begbie in Trainspotting when he found out the girl he had picked up had a cock.

Every red-blooded male has been fooled by ladyboy prostitutes, to varying degrees. I'm not suggesting the deceased was a prostitute but ....

So he allegedly kills someone 3 weeks prior and doesn't flee the country?  Either they got the wrong guy or he's incredibly stupid.

Or he thought the Thai police would be as useless as usual !

Get that Police team after the 'Red Bull' Boss..

It is obvious we will see a headline soon saying the Statute Of Limitation has expired, and he can come back into the country, what a sad system, and so called professional's that allow him to wander the World freely, after killing someone

2027 for Vorayuth's charges' statute of limitations.

"...so called professional's that allow him to wander the World freely"

He's allowed to "wander the world" because he's not wanted anywhere in the world, except Thailand for his offences here.  Thailand's "professionals" (presumably you mean the RTP) are not "allowing him to wander freely", they have no jurisdiction outside Thailand and cannot stop him doing what he wants, where he wants.

Flee the country - where to? Understandable if he is a Ukrainian as rumours says ...

Just now, Classic Ray said:

If the RTP provided the evidence for an Interpol Red Notice, and the subsequent extradition proceedings, he could be arrested wherever he is found within the territory of the signatories.

"If the RTP provided the evidence for an Interpol Red Notice..."

They did and a Red Notice was issued.  The issue is that Interpol's notices are advices to member forces, they are not instructions, and he cannot be extradited from countries where he has not been arrested.

In any case, there would have to be an extradition treaty in place between the country where he is, let's say detained, and Thailand, in order for extradition to take place. It is not as straightforward as some appear to believe.
