Recently I sent hair products to UK by DHL, when I asked if I could send coffee ( a friend is a roaster ) as well I was told that  I cannot send foodstuffs.

I asked at the local post office and as I had done last year was told "Yes" can send to UK.
The price for 5kg shampoo by DHL was B5830 the price for 1kg foodstuff by Post Office is B1800.
Does anyone know a cheaper way to send dried foodstuffs to UK ?

ThailandPost registered is totally reliable. If time is not a factor consider sending slowly deteriorating goods by sea mail it is much cheaper. Ignore DHL.

No

But why you want to send food? You can order all that stuff at Amazon. But sure it's more fun to pack and carry the parcels to the Post office, isn't it?

I'll know it's bad when I hear that "World health programme" are tossing fish & chips out of aircraft over London.

There is of course nowhere cheaper than post office, but 1800 thb is EMS, you can send it by standard airmail, it's as reliable as EMS and sometimes faster !

OP - Thanks for your comments.  Went to the local PO and sent an 8.38kg parcel of coffee / dried foodstuffs, cost Baht 6050 for 1 week delivery

Dunno about UK but I once took some gourmet coffee with me from Thailand to Perth, and the customs took it off me at Perth airport. I could have just paid a few dollars more and bought it in an Asian supermarket in Perth.
