555 good idea - but he would have been the 'wallah' and the punka is the thing that you made and he worked. My spelling may be off, but if someone is sufficiently interested, they can Gooooogle it. I remember the days before Goooogle - hasn't Goooogle made life so much simpler (and a lot of $ for the creators). I seem to recall a mishmash of various search engines. I used to use Multisearch, from which you could select different search engines, including ones that would search across a number of different search engines at the same time. It was all rather messy, really, because of the duplication of results. Yep, thank goodness for Goooogle!

So Alex has been in Packy bust doesn't know what a punka is? Maybe they have a different name for them in Packy (given that it is an Indian word), but they're there! I'm beginning to suspect that Alex has been less than truthful with us about his real 'missions' and travels. Notice how quickly he poo-pooed my Mars research? Does he protest too much? Is he actually involved in some form of plot to hide the truth about that bridge over the canal? (Just to clarify, I am talking about the near canal - not the other one.) That would explain the reason that he has no problem bringing us back some celestial bibles but has no understanding of the term 'punkawallah'. Yes Alex, you have been hoisted on your own petard! The truth, man - we will stand for nothing less! Out with it!

By "IT", I hope you are not asking Alex :D to FLASH........... :o

The old P&O used Laskars as wallahs on the punkahs.

Yeah, I reckon Alex is prevaricating on his supposed clandestine missions on Pakistan.

Ally Kyadah must be giving him backsheesh.

Ping, Wot ya reckon?

Dear all members of TV , readers of this topic,

Some of you have asked for the truth.

What truth, yours ore mine?

If you are just looking the TV and newspapers yas that is your truth.

What if I tell you my truth?

Would you believe it, or just think I am a nutcase as what I tell you totally contradicts whatever have been told to you?

I made am effort last year with my predictions for 2007 and you can see most of what I told has happened.

The reason I ridiculed your statment about Mars was to win some time ( This is a very sensitive topic).

Dear all please think of it.

If we would show evidence that there was/is life on other planets what would happen with religions?

Total chaos and total destruction of mankind and that is what happened on the other planets.

So by putting the right people in place we are gradually preparing the world to accept a different reality.

And yes, I am willing to sacrifice my life in order to give future generations a better life.

Yes, I have pictures of Moon bases and Mars bases but I cannot publish.

If you want to see, come to my place and I will show you.

You want?

555 you never disappoint Alex! It would not be proper to discuss religion in this thread. For one thing, some people take their religion very seriously and they are entitled to do so. I would enjoy debating you on the matter, but not in this thread. (I will admit to being an atheist, but am not prepared to discuss this contentious matter in this thread - nor in any thread in TV, for that matter.)

Anyway, you will keep us informed of your marvellous and mystical adventures, won't you?

Alex.......

Wot NO proof.

You talk like yer preacher, ya say this amd that.

Expect us to be believers, git rite.

I believe in a superior being / force / intelligence.

NOWAY have I ever been shown, taught anything other than FEAR,

Bring on ya proof, Alex, of ya celestial activities.

A pic of the Abominable Martian will do in the unterim.

I have been to Pluto, the excommunicated planet.

The Plutoniums are NOT happy about it.

Their leader would like to see you.

Very clever Pete. Alex, I must admit to not being interested in the snaps of the Moon and Mars bases. What I would like, if you have one available, is a snap of the bridge that NASA wants to sell - the one over the near Martian canal. I am still trying to negotiate for Pete to buy it (for a VERY reasonable commission). I reckon that it would be useful for Pete to get across the valley between the two mountains in his back yard so that he can check his sheep in the top paddock. Did I mention they have BIG back yards in NZ - they have their own paddocks?

Posted

Dunno about big backyards, we have about 100 sheep to the acre.

In OZ they have 1 sheep to 100 acres.

Poor Ockor sheepmen have to visit Mrs Plamer and her dorts as well as 1 poor sheep.

Hmmmmmmm...... Martian bridge.

this guy is on a Martian bridge, his interstellar warp speed runabout.EnforcerDrone1.jpg

Ping, this the one, dun look much good.

martian_bridge.htm

Looks like Ally Kyadah found it 1st

How ya gunna pay for it?

Well what can I say - I was talking about the bridge over the NEAR canal. The one in your snap is the bridge over the farcanal. The one to which I am referring is in pristine condition - no collapsed spans or arches, absolutely perfect. Anyway, enough of this nonsense. Clearly, you have indicated you do not need a bridge to span the two mountains in your suburban back yard.

But I like the snap of your runabout. Don't know about all its dangly bits though - they don't look all that streamlined. But I suppose in space, no-one can see you stream.

What about these latest fuels though? They reckon that in around 30 years, everyone will be driving around in hydrogen powered cars. Hydrogen is distilled from water, and the only exhaust product is pure water. Sounds good to me. I would have thought that ultimately, advancements in photoelectrics would permit us to drive in capacitor-propelled cars, the capacitor being sufficiently recharged by Sunlight to permit night-time use. This should also be useful for power generation at home and in commerce. We will not see the day, but ultimately, power generation plants will be a thing of the past. Of course, everyone will be taxed a Sunlight tax per unit of energy drawn from the Sun. It has a precedent. In Blighty, King William III introduced a Window tax (in 1696) - therefore taxing Sunlight. Read about it at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Window_tax

E: Forgot to mention 'Vegemite'

Ping, in the paper last week, there was a story about a water powered car, just aqua pura.

Not hydrogen powered, just water under pressure, it was on telly too.

Dunno how, cos water is uncompressable.

Guess it would need a decent battery, so power will come from oil or coal in most counytrpes.

I bet the oil conglomerations will do their utmost to sabotage it.

Now a VEGEMITE powered car, that be for me.

Posted

I don't know why I put that... I must have just posted in the Vegmite thread before this one. I think I'm slowly going :o

Have we put that Mars and space rubbish behind us? Good.

I remember that when I was a nipper, they were forecasting that oil deposits would be depleted by around the turn of the century. Just goes to show what a bit of exploration can achieve. However, it's not going to last forever and it's also pricing itself off the market. Of course, OPEC will never let it reach the price that substitutes that are currently more expensive to produce would be able to compete, but they may shoot themselves in the foot with their pricing anyway. About water not being compressable, I assume they mean to either use some mechanism to pressurise it, just like a water pistol... there's a thought. Gawd I hate Songkran - used to love it when I was younger. If you were artful in the old days, you could actually survive the day without once getting wet. No chance these days, though. Alternatively we may be back to steam! Steam would be unlikely because it requires the production of heat - therefore inefficient.

Who knows - I still think that solar power will ultimately win the day, but it won't be our problem.

Did you find the bit in Wiki about the window tax interesting? You may have already known about it, but not a lot of people do.

And another thing about using water for car fuel - maybe they'll use powdered water (just add water)? (Gawd that's an oldie!)

Vegemite.

Ping, shaddap, ya mite give gummint ideas.

Actually a tax on glassed areas of houses and buildings, WOW!!!!

I was told of the window tax at school.

I always remembered it as being just a money grabbibg excercise by the reigning king.

He was going broke, LOL.

Compressed water propelled rockets were fun.

Actually it was compressed air that made water jet, still fun, mite be good for Songkran... :o

Hey, no need to mention vegemite here, is there?

Zooooooooeeeeeeeefffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff................................

......yes I am back!

Good to see ya all folks are still getting busy here and tryiyng to keep this magnificent thread alive.

I see there is some concern about energy sources and possible solutions in the form of waterpowered ICE's.

Why ya think "They" do not allow that to happen huh? (machines that run on water, i come back on this later)

No worry there is plenty of oil left inside our planet. Why do you think they keep producing stuff that runs on oil based fuel, hmmm?

Global warming, gimme a break, look at China last month, coldest period in more then 50 years, ha ha ha.

No no no, the real problem will be the lack of fresh drinkable water and the lack of clean oxygen rich air.

The new whoa will be about water and fresh air, I am tellin ya.

Just ask yourself in how many countries is it safe to drink tapwater?

Don't mention Australia as the tapwater is contaminated with Fluorides but that dictatorship, governement is telling you it is safe.

As I said before please do not get influenced by MSM, stop reading your newspapers and stop watching the news on your telly.

This thread is where it all happens, right in front of your face!

And as a bonus I will present you with a document that deals with the solution to Anti Gravity Propulsion or whatever you call it.

Anti_Gravity.pdf

Take some time to read and if you have any questions feel free to ask.

How do I end my post with a question?

Posted

alfen.gifWater water everywhere, but beer for me.

Why me worry?

Alex, so long as there is enough water to make my fave brew.

As for ant-gravity, why ya thinx I drinx BEEEEER?

Drink..... Drink........., drink to the eyes that are shining like stars....... oops now I am going interstellar again.

Vegemite is similar stuff to beer, made from beer hops, used, but stll same.

Alex, the problem associated with global warming is global dimming, which is actually countering the effects of warming to some extent, because the pollutants are reducing the Earth's exposure to sunlight. (It is more complex than that, but let's KIS). As to the impact of human-generated contribution to global warming, that's the bone of contention. In one camp, people say that global warming is largely caused by man despite natural cyclical warming and colling trends. In the other camp, people say that the human impact is negligible or non-existent and that the natural cycle is wholly responsible. Then there are those with their little tents at various positions between the two main camps. My own view, from what I have read, is that it is mainly due to the cyclicle nature of weather patterns. It doesn't help the blame-the-people camp for them to have so many people who been proven to exaggerate or blatantly lie about the level of human culpability.

Did you manage to work out how to end your post with a question?

PS (Pete in particular) I have started a 'General Discussion' thread in the Phuket forum (Phuket-related) and am continuing our discussion of Thai barbecues in that thread.

It'll never end with these limp-wristed, bed-wetting greenies. Once they make a car that runs on water, then they'll find that it is spreading some microbe or something, and we are causing a world-wide water shortage, so we hate to do it, but we have to raise your taxes and jack up the price to save the <deleted>' planet again. Until we are all eating grass and living in caves, they'll never be satisfied. Oh, but then we'll be causing a grass shortage.... AlGore and his jack-booted eco nazis will never be happy 'till they have all the money, and power. Which is only right since they know what is best for you anyway.....Don't you understand, we're doing it for you?... :o:D:D
