A car reportedly sped past a drug checkpoint in the Mueang Chonburi District and crashed into a guardrail. All three men in the car sustained minor injuries and were void of drugs, but police believed they threw them away while escaping.

Officers from the Saensuk Police Station arrived at a car accident scene on Ang Sila – Bangsaen Rd in the Saensuk subdistrict on Monday, July 18th, after receiving a report that a black Honda Civic sedan previously sped past a drug checkpoint and collided with a guardrail at that spot.

According to the officers, a sedan was demolished with both rear tires punctured, which the officers said were caused by road spikes used by an anti-drug force at a checkpoint who tried to stop the vehicle. The three male suspects; Jongpakorn Jitbumrungpornchai, 33, Decha Aredee, 37, and Nattapon Plaboothong, 24, only suffered minor scrapes and were taken to Chonburi Hospital.

Saensuk police reportedly found an undisclosed number of bullets but no guns nor illegal substances; however, Pol. Capt. Leab Ketchad, an inspector (suppression) from the Chonburi Police Station said the suspects may have tossed the drugs away after speeding past a checkpoint.
