how late can you be on a PEA payment before electricity is disconnected

My electric bill is always due on the fifth, I am going to be out of the country until the ninth, went to PEA today to pay my August bill and told them I wanted to pay one month in advance, no can do. Does anyone know how late you can be before you get disconnected.

When you say "due" do you mean when it arrives or the final payment date on the bill?

Certainly a bill that drops in your box on the 5th will be more than fine paying on the 9th.

Going more than a couple of weeks past the final payment date could be risky (and of course you have to go to PEA to pay).

Just checked last bill.

Meter reading/print date: 23 July

Due date: 2 August

That's only 10 days (to my surprise).

But I am certain that next house they didn't for a whole month and not disconnected.

can a foreigner use the app or Thai's only

Been using it for months. Works OK....................oh, and I am a Foreigner!

I think you have to put in the details of the PEA Account holder, which is, in my case, my Thai GF. But it works on my phone.

And I added my next-door sister onto the app.

Get the PEA app and you can pay your bill from anywhere in the World.

Can we see all the monthly bill amount on this app? I didn't know about this.

Anyway, I've been doing auto-deduction from my bank account for years to save me the trouble.

Try and set up a Direct debit

we have that and its the wifes bank account, or see if you can overpay say 4 or 5k THB

Auto-deduction method is too late for OP, it takes a few weeks to process the application. I've done that before.

The only solution is to use the PEA app as suggested by Kannika

Yes it shows your current balance, and links to all the big banks, or a card payment.

Currently I can look back to April 21 on the table view, more than one year.

They have some diagram view which goes back only 6 months.

The electrical authority didn't have this PEA app a few years ago when I had the same problem as OP; I needed to go out of Thailand but I can't pay in advance which is strange.

Now that we can see the bills in digital format, it is much more convenient to pay online. I will install the app later.

Please check whether you can enter a passport ID or still only a 13 digit ID is possible. For the 13 digit you can borrow any Thai person's ID or a "generated".

Doesn't matter regarding the name on the bill.

Water and Electric in Sukhothai province can't be paid in 7-11 after the due date.

Same here, but was surprised that I could pay the Niece Electric bill via the PEA APP even it was 4 days late.

FYI.

I once made a mistake in closing the bank app after doing an online payment for our electric bill via the PEA app. So the Pea APP kept saying "Waiting for payment" so I paid it again (800 THB it was). And to my utter surprise the earlier payment was deducted from the next months bill.

Yeah if I forget and go past the due date I give my wife the money and she can pay by pea phone app.

What is the app called? I've found some PEA apps but not the one that lets you see and pay bills...
