Infowars founder and conspiracist jack-of-all-trades Alex Jones is finally on trial to determine how much he must pay the families of ten victims of the Sandy Hook shooting after a judge last year found him liable for defamation for calling the attack a hoax.

The consequences could be serious. The parents of the children killed in the 2012 massacre are seeking as much as $150 million in damages from Jones, whose business filed for bankruptcy earlier this year.

Yep. Jones attorneys sent copies of Jones phones data to the plaintiffs by mistake. 
Now the civil trial that awards monetary damages has his financials that say he isn’t bankrupt but in reality earned up to $5 million a week.
 

The phone data might  put Jones in danger of criminal offenses like perjury and allegations of possession of child porn on his phone data.

There seems to be no end to these nut jobs, and I wonder if it's because they are just stupid, or because they are in it for the fame and money?

 

Perhaps he believes it, but the proof is there for all to see, so why broadcast lies and rubbish in much the same manner as the Anti-vaxxers have done?

 

Someone should do the world a favour and have him put down, one way or another.

This is a defamation case. Jones called the parents "crisis actors" and claimed the whole thing was staged..

You don't believe he defamed the parents? a US court has found otherwise. Where's his appeal? This trial is for compensation to his victims. There is no longer a question as to his culpability but rather to how much he has to pay. I hope it breaks him. He's madly trying every trick he can to stash his money and is far from showing any remorse.

Why? How are the police involved? Defamation is a civil matter. Lying in court might bring charges but what he did isn't criminal. How is the school liable?

I agree that there are too many guns. School security can't be improved to a level sufficient to prevent these murders at any cost even remotely reasonable or acceptable to anybody. It's still off topic. This is about Jones' financial penalty for defamation and spreading fake conspiracy theories. He is the most well known far right bigot in US politics. Jones is scum.

There's not to these nut jobs, because it works! There is a mass of people ready to believe anything Jones and other crooks like him (including politicians) may feed them with. All these conspiracy theories, such as 9/11, Sandy Hook, pizzagate, stolen elections, vaccine, etc... got a large audience, not only in social media but also in mass media such as Fox News.

As long as there are people ready to believe such B.S., there will be people who will take advantage of it.

He wasn't irresponsible. His words were deliberately calculated to be inflammatory and intended to cause harm is pursuit of profit.

He seems crazy to me but murder is murder. He just spoke words. Talking rubbish shouldnt be considered worse than murder.
