Also there's an Australian JP (Neil Kilah) in Chiang Mai, in addition to the Honorary Consul.  Not exactly close to Si Sa Ket, however.

Don't JPs actually need to reside within the Australian state that they are licensed in?

I've never heard of Australian JPs living in other countries. In any case, they are not meant to be doing this work outside of the state where they were appointed.

Australian JP’s are appointed by the various States.

My appointment is from NSW and still valid.

From memory only JP’s appointed by the Queensland Government can certify documents outside of Australia.

I seem to recall that this was confirmed by our Honorary Consul in Chiang Mai a couple of years ago.

If you have to stay in BKK i can recommend a hotel only 12 min walk away from the OZ embassy, I stayed there on Mon, whilst for some Expensive at 1,500 worth every baht has everything you would expect for a 5* place even a full kitchen 50'' tv and 32'' in the bedroom.

AT EASE hotel.  you can book on-line and pay when you arrive.
