PHOENIX – Three Arizona parents were arrested Friday after scuffling with law enforcement as they tried to get into an elementary school to pick up and protect" their children during a school lockdown, police said.

Thompson Ranch Elementary School in the Phoenix suburb of El Mirage was locked down for about an hour Friday morning after someone reportedly saw a man with a gun near the school, the El Mirage Police Department said.

Authorities said the school was later cleared and the suspect, who was arrested by police, never gained access to the campus.

Not saying the parents were right to try to push through, they could have made a bad situation worse, but given what happened in Texas can’t say I entirely blame them.

After Uvalde how could they trust the cops to protect their kids.

After so many incidents, how could they trust the cops not to shoot first and ask questions later?

Would any of those arrested parents be non white by any chance, does anyone know  ?

The area has a very high percentage of people with Hispanic roots.  The commanding officer was named Chavez, so I suspect race was not a big factor.
