TokyoJapan is considering the deployment of 1,000 long-range cruise missiles to boost its counterattack capability against China, the Yomiuri newspaper reported on Sunday.

The missiles would be existing arms modified to extend their range from 100 kilometers (62 miles) to 1,000 kilometers, the newspaper said, citing government sources.

The arms, launched by ships or aircraft, would be stationed mainly around the southern Nansei islands and capable of reaching the coastal areas of North Korea and China, the Yomiuri said.

Looks like we're in for nasty weather.

Our only hope is that somehow the Chinese people rise up en masse and depose the CCP.

THE grim reality is the USA have a much higher chance of mass civil unrest, the ultimate irony, because of the factional rift thats been created by democracy and free speech allowing demagogues to spout their divisive BS.

Whereas China is at the very opposite extreme, one guy controls every thought and action of over a billion souls. Both scenarios are Terrifying. What a time to be alive!????

About time SOMEONE stood up to the Chinese! ????

SOMEONE already tried that. It was unpopular with opponents of the GOP(surprise, surprise), and was used as a tool to batter him with, so bit late to suddenly want or expect the current guy to do anything. To be fair it was easier for Trump as he did not have any complicating matters there.

"Democratic presidential hopefuls hammered President Donald Trump over his trade war with China in Thursday’s debate as fears grow about the conflict shaking the global economy.

The 10 candidates on stage in Houston portrayed an impulsive president with little concrete plan to force Beijing to change what Trump calls unfair trade practices."

Surely China and Japan have enough weaponry to wipe each other out a dozen times over? I notice the art of negotiation and making deals has really fallen apart around the world recently. It's all force and military might and invasions over the delicate art of the deal we so enjoyed recently and the relative world peace it led to.

Japan doesn't have nuclear weapons. And it has a relatively small military, to boot.

It was PELOSI an 82 year old woman who had the balls to tell Xi and his thug army to go fornicate themselves.

"Deals" with arsehats like Rocketman Xi and Putin have us where we are now.

What they respect is SEALS (Navy) not deals (Orange).

You mean praising Xi for extending his Presidential tenure for life and adding that maybe America should try that. He looked up to Xi for consolidating power and in his widest dream hope to do the same. Put him away as he is a threat to America.

The trade war has been a complete failure, as expected. The trade deficit with China even increased after the introduction of tariffs.

Trump also scrapped the TPP, leaving the region under the economic influence of China.

On top of it, the tough man shamelessly asked China for help ????

"According to Bolton, — who reportedly based his memoir on notes and contemporaneous accounts — during the meeting with Xi in 2019, Trump suggested increased agricultural purchases by Beijing from American farmers would help aid his reelection chances."
